2020, Oct 1-4: Fall NOG - Northern Oregon Gathering

The majority have spoken! Everyone wants to go back to the beach. The Fall NOG is once again headed to Nehalem Bay State Park (Manzanita area). 95 miles west of Portland on Hwy 101. The NOG was last there in the fall of 2016.

Once you make reservations (or have questions) feel free to post here, the CasitaForum, EscapeForum or the Oregon Gatherings Facebook group... please post just once.

Nehalem Bay State Park rates are $31 for electric & water per day. Make reservations through ReserveAmerica or call ReserveAmerica at 1-800-452-5687 (during regular business hours).

http://www.reserveamerica.com/campin...&parkId=402191

Check out the site pics http://www.campsitephotos.com/campgr...Bay-State-Park

Click for brochure: http://oregonstateparks.org/index.cf..._bay102700.pdf

IF you want a Yurt, there's some nice ones in A Loop (two are pet friendly). There's also a kid's play structure in B loop.

I'll try to get the meeting hall reserved for both Friday and Saturday nights. Can't do that until Jan. 2. I'll update the thread on CasitaForum when that's done.

As usual, I'll keep a park map updated and a list of participants going for those that have made reservations on the CasitaForum here: https://www.casitaforum.com/invboard...gon-gathering/

I've chosen site A14.

Be sure to let us know if you're newbies to egg gatherings and everyone start planning/making your name tags.

We'll fill in details about the doin's when we get closer to October.

Ready, Set, GO!

For the Oregon State Parks, the earliest you can make reservations is nine months to the day/date of your arrival. IF you're planning to arrive on Oct. 1, you can make reservations tomorrow.

First, thanks Donna! You're the best. I can't believe we're already planning October campouts! We will be in A22. Love Nehalem Bay.

We'll be in B03, arriving later Friday. This will be our first rally. We'll show you how to fit two adults, a teenager, cat, and a doberman in a 17.5 Bigfoot ;-). And we should have lots of pictures from the summer trip to Alaska.

See you in October,
Alex

Weather?

Hi,

I just made reservations to attend with my 1974 Trillium 1300. Am wondering about weather that time of year....need to know if I'll need to get busy and install a heater in the Trill before I head down lol.

Best regards,

Murray Stevens

Hey Murray, in 2016 when we were there, it was 'cool.' Probably around 50F during the day and got down to high 30Fs to low 40Fs at night. What made it feel cold, is it was wet. And at the beach there's always at least a slight wind. Those temps would have been just fine if it would have been dry. Unfortunately we can't predict the weather. But since you're in a serviced site, I'd definitely bring a plug-in cube heater.

Let's just say I'll be running my electric heater and/or furnace. I have flannel sheets on the bed along with fleece blankets, but, yeah, I want that heat at other times, too. Plus, you want some heat in there so you can dry out your wet clothes in a reasonable amount of time. It's gonna be raining, I'm sure. It's the Pacific Northwest - we get rain, even if it's just misting.

Bring your heater, flannels and rain gear.

Great! BUT, if you're talking about the WAG in Taidnapam, it's the first weekend in June... not July . http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...pam-90309.html

Well see you in October!

Yet to be named Trillium 4500, and myself are signed up for C37 October 1-4. Camper should be rehabbed and ready for camping by then. Beautiful park. Thank you to those making it happen.

Yay! It'll be a great way for you to ask others about their rigs, using them, what to stock it with (collapsible bowls that take up much less room - that sort of thing) and all that.
