VA | 2020, October 22-25: Fall Fiberglass Rally at Hungry Mother

Hello Walt,
We wanted to encourage Ashley to attend because it was so helpful and fun for us last year. We are set to arrive Oct. 22 and leave Oct. 25 and we’ll be at site 23 with our little Casita! We are so looking forward to seeing everyone again and to express our gratitude for the great hospitality! We just love our camper! It may be too early to ask but is the itinerary set up yet? Wondering what restrictions or changes to expect. We’ll be tricking out the Casita for Halloween! 🎃 👀 Can’t wait!

Ray and Francie are hoping to be there with our 2017 Scamp 16 Deluxe Layout A (with front sofa/bunks instead of front dinette).

If anyone is going to have to cancel a Camp Burson site, we'd really appreciate a PM that would allow us to get a site and attend.

I've sent private messages to you and to Walt.

We've been to other rallies in the area but never to Hungry Mother.

We've heard good things!

I guess we'll hope it all works out.

I just called the park and discovered that both Burson and Creekside are booked full the weekend of the rally. There are some non-reservable sites at Burson which seems to be the only option remaining for now. The only other possibility is to check frequently for cancellations.

Just now replied to your PM. Spoke with park just now and that site (Creekside B17) is only available for ONE night. Nothing else available....

Unfortunately we had to cancel for the October Rally. However, I just cancelled campsite Burson 45 if anyone is looking for a space.

Is the rally at hungry mother state park still going on October 22-25, 2020? We have an Aliner but are interested in purchasing a new camper. Do you know if any escapes trailers will be at the rally?

Hello Everyone,

We are RVBlogger (Mike and Susan) and we are planning to attend the Fiberglass RV Rally in about a month at Hungry Mother State Park. We have a site booked in Burson!

We have a YouTube Channel and we have gotten lots of requests from our viewers to shoot some videos of Fiberglass RVs. The Fiberglass RV manufacturers don't attend RV Shows so we haven't been able to get any footage. So - we were hoping we could get some video at the Rally.

Is anyone interested in allowing us to shoot a video of your fiberglass RV? We would love to do a quick interview with you and have to show off your trailer!

We would also like to make a video about the Rally itself if that's ok.

Please let us know asap!

My husband & I are currently tent camper (like Ashley in this thread). We are
Going to try to get a campsite somewhere in Hungry Mother for Thursday 10/22- Saturday 10/24. We are hoping to gain insight into fiberglass campers as we plan for our future camping needs. On the calendar I marked us as Maybe but we plan to be there. What is the schedule for Friday and Saturday?

Because of COVID-19, the scheduled Park-led bike ride on Friday and dinner at the Barbara Kingsolver owned restaurant Harvest Table are not possible so we're pretty well on our own.
I'll address some alternatives in another post next week.
Otherwise I hope you can join us. We all like to show off our eggs.

Hello WaltP and everyone else. We are staying at a local hotel and are looking forward to meeting all of you neat fiberglass rv owners and your "eggs". It sounds like the Hungry Mother Rally is going to happen...Yea! As we are not camping in the park plus this is our first time attending an RV rally, I was wondering how we go about finding all of you. Don't want to be a bother but I suspect the park is good sized. Our tent's main zipper broke so we went with a nearby hotel. We are ready to learn about different fiberglass RVs.
