That's really fun to hear Eva. I look forward to catching up with you two again. And yeah, I do remember the Evirk handle.

Hey folks: Lee Morrison is trying to get us an attendance count on the Hungry Mother Facebook page. So far we have a count of 30. But there are surely some here not on Facebook. If that's you please sign in and let us know how many in your site. I'll post that info on the Facebook page also.
I think in the future we should do like some rallies do and set up a rally group list from the start so we can have a handle on how many to expect.

Okay. I see I neglected to mention anything about a dinner. In recent years I've offered a cowboy stew and SUMI salad dinner. Its starting to look like the group may be a bit larger and I'm not sure I'll be able to feed everyone. The only way I know to deal with that is to say it'll be till the food runs out.
Fingers crossed.

I just realized that I hadn't yet posted my site:

  • Arriving Thursday 10/27
  • Departing Sunday 10/20
  • Just myself

We were headed to Jekyll Island and changed our plans a few minutes ago to attend the rally at Hungry Mother, we booked site #50, arriving Thursday 10/27 and departing 10/30.

We'll be heading up from Louisiana next Wednesday the 26th and would like to overnight somewhere between Birmingham Al and Chattanooga near interstate 59.
Any recommendations for a nice campground would be appreciated.

One of our favorite parks in GA is Cloudland Canyon state park, just SW of Chattanooga, and close to I-59. Should be great scenery this time of year.

Late cancellation

A close family member was recently diagnosed with cancer, so we have decided to cancel our reservation for site #52. We will be calling in our cancellation later this morning, so we hope another fiberglass rv can take our place. We are very disappointed to miss out on what promises to be a great rally and hope that we can try to make it next year.

I also posted this on the Hungry Mother Rally Facebook page and it sounds like another fiberglass rv has taken our site.

Thanks for the recommendation of Cloudland Canyon, it was pretty full so we found DeSoto State Park a little south of there near Fort Payne Alabama, that should do for a quick overnighter. Maybe Cloudland on the return trip home though.

Thanks
David

For those not on the rally Facebook page Our dinner will be Friday, and because the group has grown beyond my ability to feed such a large group, several folks have volunteered to supplement with additional dishes making more like a traditional potluck.
I will still be offering my usual venison cowboy stew and SUMI salad. Hopefully with the additions it'll still work out okay.
And responding to an earlier question, I was unable to find any appropriate food trucks in the area. That's not surprising as it's a rather sparsely populated area.

See you all soon.

Hi Larry, just wanted to rib you a little, but why are you leaving (10/20) a week before you arrive (10/27)?
Wish we could make it this year.

By rapid calendar methematical calculation, I'm departing on Sunday 10/30.

I've missed you and Marilyn at the other rallys. I hope that things are "moving" along ok.

Hey y'all: I look forward to seeing you at Hungry Mother this weekend. But if something does happen to make you cancel, please give us a little warning. I know of at least one couple in Creekside that would love to switch.

I had planned on being there today, but I lost a crown and had to see my dentist this afternoon. See you tomorrow.

Looks like the weather gods will favor us again .
Looks like a good weekend coming up. The first rain predicted by Weather Undergroind is Sunday afternoon.
