Looks like a 2 1/2 hour drive for us. And nothing currently on the radar. We would definitely be up for a trip to the Hudson Vally.

While not my idea of a rally, Camping World/Good Sams is doing one in Syracuse, NY at the NY State Fairgrounds in mid June. Only $199.00 to dry camp for 4 days in a parking lot!

You mean your idea of fun isn't being wedged in among a few hundred 40' diesel pushers and fifth wheels? You could also visit some of the recommended "local attractions" such as Niagara Falls. Only a 160 mile hop, skip and jump up I-90!

This might be an opportunity to strut our new Escape 5.0 coming in July.

Since I live in Oswego, about 30 miles north of Syracuse, Niagara Falls is always a hop, skip & jump, although I far prefer taking the Seaway trail rather than I90 to get to Niagara Falls. A beautiful drive, much along Lake Ontario.

We would be interested in Copake KOA in October. We are located in Connecticut & only a 2 hr ride.

Great, let us know your opinion and space for a group meet. Thanks, hoping now the need to pick a date convenient for everyone, that is always the hard part.

Would love to go to a meet this year, hopefully there will be one in August. School starts in Sept., we might be able to get away for a weekend trip after that, but this year we're trying to keep our travel expenditures within PA.

I'd be willing to help set one up in PA, but I've been hiking/backpacking for a few years, not sure which campgrounds are good/bad or willing to work with a group. Also unsure what other details go into a meet or what folks expect.

Normally you pick a cg that you have been to and like the amenities, something for kids, wi/fi, cable, electric/water hook ups. Also a place for a group to congregate or an area where we all can be camping near one another. Then you need to pick a date, most rallies are Friday/Saturday with departures on Sunday. First night is campfire meet and greet and Saturdays is usually a pot luck lunch/dinner with tours of the other units. That is really it.

Just an FYI for anyone who is within a decent driving distance of Columbus, OH. Our 9th Annual Rally is being held this year at Dillon State Park Campgrounds, east of Columbus, OH, and barely off I-70 in Sept. Details are on this site under 9th Annual Ohio Fall Gathering. We still have about a dozen sites left. We are within driving distance of Amish country.

Heading down tomorrow to check out the CG. We're taking the kayaks for a paddle in Lake Taghkanic, lunch in Woodstock, and maybe a stop in the outlets in West Stockbridge. Lots to do in that area. Report to follow!

The Copake KOA is waaaaay out in the country, but it is very nice. Well maintained, clean, and very nice owners. We have a couple of options of areas for our group as well as options for group activities. I told them that Jim would be contacting them to further discuss arrangements, but I think it would fit our needs very well.

Thanks Sue, we can chat upon your return home and make some decisions. I'll send you a p/m with my phone # later this week. Thanks again for checking it out, I'm glad it is off the beaten path....

Everyone else who had expressed an interest, we need now to pick some dates. I'm suggesting Aug 8-10th weekend or October 4-6 weekend. The latter dates may have some fall foliage by then and provide some nice scenery!!!

Oh, it's off the beaten path alright! It was a lovely ride, though. We saw parts of Columbia County that we had never seen before and we are only about 50 miles away. Beautiful scenery, and some gorgeous houses that must be summer homes for rich NYC folks.
