ALERT ALERT TO ANYONE TRAVELING SOUTH ON THE 101 FREEWAY !!!!
Due to a police action on the freeway in Woodland Hills, we recommend using the 23 in Thousand Oaks north toward Simi Valley. Then connect onto the 118 East and follow that to the 210 Pasadena/south it connects to the 15 south in the Rancho Cucamonga area. You then follow the 15 south/San Diego into the town of Temecula where you will pick up the 79 south of town. Good place to gas up.

Just saw this on the campsite webpage:
County of San Diego: Agua Caliente County Park
SPECIAL NOTICE(04/12/12) - Agua Caliente Regional Park is currently under a water shortage due to the high demand at the park. In order to conserve the amount of water needed, park staff is asking all guests to take precautionary measures to conserve water by implementing the following strategies while camping and visiting the park:
Please take short showers, and turn off the water while soaping and shampooing.
Please turn off the water while brushing teeth, washing face or hands, and only turn on the water when needed.
Do not leave sink running when washing dishes. Please only use what you need to conserve.
Reuse water whenever you can. (e.g. dirty dishwater can be used to extinguish your fire, for example).
If you have an RV, consider practices such as turning off the shower when soaping and shampooing and filling up the sink with water to wash and rinse dishes to conserve water.
If you have an RV, ensure your fresh water tanks are full before you arrive to the park.
Please bring enough drinking water with you to get through your trip.
On behalf of County Parks and Recreation team, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we thank you for helping us conserve water.

We've been a little concerned the last few weeks about the short length of our reserved site #17. When we saw that Jim & Carol postponed their trip we changed our reservation to site #7.

Boy! What a weekend! I'm sorry the party's over and I'm sorry for those who didn't make it. We're glad Karen's group is OK, but darn those cryptic CHP messages. They told us the accident happened near Julian, not Warner Springs. We were all thinking you drove off a cliff.
Once I got set up in my campsite, the party moved to my place.
We had a little wine, and everybody got Lei'd.
I had found these goblets on Thursday night at the 99cent Only store, and the label on the bottle says it all.

There are several hiking trails. Robert and I hiked up to the campground overlook.
...and here is a close-up of the area we were in.
In the center of the left pic is my Honda Odyssey and Fiber Stream next to Austin's Scamp.
Linda & Dale's Campster is across the dirt "street" to the left, under the green ezi-up shade.

We made it home yesterday in good time. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones! We all were so sorry to hear of Karen's accident but were relieved to find out they were ok. The campground though a bit off the beaten path for me was very nice and well maintained.
We had to miss the trip to the mud caves because they were closed due to the search for a man that went missing on Easter. After the rain that we had Friday afternoon and evening the blooms on the cactus and other vegetation were amazing to see!

Thank you to everyone for joining the gathering and for posting the terrific pictures. A few of us will be returning next month to Aqua Caliente before they close for the summer. Iam sure it will be warmer but the pools are terrific. Anyone up to joining us again?

I finally got home!
Spent the first night after leaving Aqua Caliente in Joshua Tree - fabulous.
The next night at Kmart in Tehachapi.
Woke up the next morning with another RV and a bunch of huge trucks in the parking lot.
Last night I was at Pinnacles which is so beautiful I forgot to take a picture!
And of course here is the required traveling photo!

Rosemary,
We just got back home and unloaded. The weather was warm at around 90, and windy Friday night. Saturday was lighter breeze, and Sunday lighter yet. The big moon was spectacular coming over the mountain. I got in a nice hike to the top of the mountain behind the store. About 800 ft. elevation gain. Great views from there. We stayed in a full hookup site, which was nice being able to run the airco and not having to visit the dump station. Another FGRV was spotted a couple spaces up from us, but I never saw the people who belonged to the trailer.
Take care and have fun out there,
Russ

We cancelled May and are going to Lake Casitas instead. Moved reservation to Sept. and then will move it to November. Thanksgiving in the desert.
