Aqua caliente county park- san diego co.

Hi Everyone
Sorry it has taken so long to get this up on the site.
YES, we are having the 2nd annual NOG @ AQUA CALIENTE COUNTY PARK IN EASTERN SAN DIEGO COUNTY.
The dates are April 10-15 (Wed. - Mon.) These are the dates that Steve and I will be there. As this is a very casual gathering, you can join us and leave when its convenient for you.

TO VIEW THE PARK AND MAKE RESERVATIONS, ACCESS THE COUNTY WEBSITE AT: http://www.sdcounty.ca.gov - AQUA CALIENTE COUNTY PARK. The county has a wonderful site and you will find it very easy to navigate.

WE WILL AGAIN THIS YEAR BE GATHERING IN AREA 1

The home page for the park has 6 boxes in the middle of the page, when you click "ON-LINE RESERVATIONS", that will bring up the lay-out of the campground.
When you input your dates to arrive & depart it will bring up what sites are available, by clicking on any open (green) open site you will then get a picture of that site.
All sites come with a table and fire pit. YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN WOOD. Shade is minimal, but this time of year it wasnt a problem.
PETS AND CHILDREN ARE WELCOME.

THE MAIN ATTRACTION TO THIS PARK ARE ITS MINERAL POOLS,
so plan on bringing your suits and soak away the winter aches and pains.

Since the gathering last year I can add a few more pieces of info about the park. It is very well maintained with several visits a day by rangers and maintenance workers.

THERE IS NO CEL SERVICE IN THE PARK, BUT BY GOING ABOUT A HALF MILE OUTSIDE THE PARK YOU DO GET A SIGNAL. After an emergency last year we found the rangers very helpful in getting messages to visitors. Be sure and write down the parks phone number and leave with anyone who may need to reach you. They also have a public phone for use.

The park has numerous hiking trails, ranging from very easy to Mt. Everest ability. At this time of year the flowers are starting to bloom and are wonderful photo subjects.

Also, this time of year can be rather unpredictable when it comes to the weather in the desert. Last year we had a night of rain that left the surrounding mountains of the valley covered in snow. Truly lovely.

Please either leave your reservation information here in FiberGlass RV site or @ rosemaryrizzo@hotmail.com
Your site number and days are all we need.
The only planned activity will be a social night on Friday the 12th. Just bring yourselves, munchies, beverage and chairs.
You will need to bring in all food and necessities. The park has a small store but its hrs are varied and unpredictable.
Looking forward to having you join us in the desert.

We would of loved to hang for a couple days but we're headed north on the 1st after being parked in Oceanside for 2months.

NOG Aqua Caliente

Hello,
What does NOG stand for? I'm new to this forum and am in the market for a 16' Scamp or Casita. (or similar).
I currently have a 1990 Toyota Odyssey motorhome...kinda Tiki funky. Planning on selling it a getting a small trailer.
Will there be any Casitas or Scamps at this gathering? I live about an hour east of LA and would come down for your gathering.
Thanks

I wondered why we took the same campsite we had last year. I forgot about not needing the "Lego bricks" to level the trailer side-to-side. J-u-s-t fit under the tree branch at the back of the site.
