Best Single Day At Quartzite.

Hi all going to Quartzite.
Have have a bit of a dilemma. We have a 14 night booking which is paid for near Phoenix from Feb 1-15. Well, right in the middle is the Q gathering.
Checked with the Arizona State Park and they say there is no “In and Out Priveledges thus we may have to leave our Bigfoot in Phoenix and come out for the day.
We’ve been to the tent before but what would be the best day for the Fibreglass RV Gathering to meet folks and look at rigs etc.
Thanks!

I don't see why they would care if you left for the day or for several days since they already have your money. Go buy a cheap tent and set it up and head out...

The day you decide to go is the best day to attend.

I was there in Quartzite on Monday for the day. I made it a day trip from Phoenix and got see everything I wanted to see. This was my second trip to Quartzite. Both times have been day trips from Phoenix as I was in Phoenix for the car auctions which was the primary reason for my week and half AZ trip.

If you do not have a camper to take with you and stay it's a day trip at best as you can see most everything associated with the RV meet, flea market and mineral market in 1 day.

Anything additional "could" make you want to stay a second day however I doubt it.

Have fun!

If its like other rally's I have attended Saturday would be the best day to meet people and see rigs. People drive in on Friday and leave Monday or Sunday if their still working. We were camping in Quartzsite last weekend and did the Swap-meet and RV show in the big tent. We will be back to Quartzsite Feb 9-12 for the rally meet. We still work and not retired so we grab days when we can.
This will be the first time at the rally out there for us.

That doesn’t make sence. What do those with a class C or B do when they leave for sight seeing for a day or two?

I called the park and was told by the ranger that once you have checked into your site, your RV has to remain there for the full rental period.
My wife isn’t going to go to Quartzite as it isn’t “her thing” and so I’m going out on my own. Will sleep in the pickup under our Fiberglass Canopy!

So motorhome owners are basically prisoners? How silly. Maybe I will stay east of the Misspy. Except for the NC and SC state park's rules against alcohol, I am happy here.

Sorry but I didn’t fully relate what he said. You can come and go during the day but the RV must be on the site for overnight.

Tony, a question about the call, was it to the actual park location you registered for or the AZ SP Headquarter offices? On site folks may have a better understanding for local side trips and bend the rules. Like others, I don't see why it would make any difference, the space is paid for, empty or not .

I hear you Dave.
I spoke with the ranger in the park.
When I get to the park I will ask again.

I would be inclined to tell them that I was cancelling my reservation for the night or two that I wanted to be elsewhere. Is there a law or rule that says you can't cancel part of a reservation? (If they say, 'you may do that but there's no refund,' just shrug and say 'ok.' Same effect as if you were simply absent from the site!)

I think many, not all, Park Rangers have some frustration issues. They like to flex the little bit of authority they have.
I’m not too concerned but will let everyone know what I find out.

Can you pitch a pup tent in the site to hold it?
