Lake Casita

Carol,

This is going to be one of the biggest mini rallies on the west coast. good for you. I like your idea for the white elephant game. I know just what I'm going to bring.

Hi Michael

Thank you for adding the photos ... I'm still getting use to this website and photos I wasn't sure I could do yet.

This casita group is so great that it is easy to put a rally together, as you well know. Your Lake Lopez gathering was fantastic and we will never compare to the Cast Iron Oven cooking lessons and the great food.

I'm glad you like the white elephant idea and we also know what we are bringing ....

We are having a big turnout for Lake Casitas, and we couldn't be happier. As it turns out the things that are available at Lake Casitas, and the support of so many great Casitans, make it easy.

Now we just have to hope the weather cooperates.

:sunny

Ray for the Rally

Well, next weekend will be the time to "buff the Casita to a high sheen" as our neighbor Shirley says. Unfortunately, she and Bob and the Wandering Eggloo (and Rocko and George) won't be able to join us due to a work (boo, hiss) conflict. Can I bring more than one white elephant article? I've got two unused items that just don't fit in the SD, plus one bulky one that we'll bring just to give to someone who will give it a good home--left from our old pal Chiclet, who I guess will be there in his new incarnation as the DawgHouse?

Lake Casitas

Hi Nancy

Sorry this is late but we have been at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and just arrived home tonight. It was wonderful.

You sure can bring more than one white elephant... we look forward to seeing everyone at the lake.

See you soon.

Welcome home Carol and Jim

:wave Carol,

Glad you made it home safe. How was Black Barts in Flagstaff?

Also, start another thread and give us a “trip report” of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiest.

Wow!!

I can hardly believe I count 20 Casitas for this trip. The only thing we need to make it complete is our founding group--Charles, Glen, Roland, etc. I guess we'll just have to party extra hard to make up for the missing!!

No

No, what y'all have to do, is promise me to drive carefully ... and have a great time!

Pam and I will be there in spirit.

There's always next year ... or maybe the year after that.

Casitas

I have seen three Casitas heading south today. Must be folks heading for the Lake Casita Rally. I was on the other side of the freeway heading north. I leave in the morning.

Report?

:wave I know y'all just got home (some may still be on the road?) and are probably all busy getting things washed and waxed and stowed away, ready for the next trip; but, when you get a chance, let us know how the Lake Casitas confab went, okay?

No doubt a good time was had by all... Details! Details!

THANKS!

Our Lake Casita Outing is over

What a great group. Jim and I want to thank everyone who attended our outing at Lake Casitas this past weekend.

Thanks Barbara and Charlie for being our welcome committee. We know everyone had a great time at the wine and cheese Friday night.

Thanks to everyone on Saturday morning who opened their Casitas for viewing... all Casitans enjoyed seeing the trailers but we also had several other lookers who were amazed at our Casita trailers. Many ideas were exchanged.

Nancy Wright made our name tags, actually everyone made their own with rubber stamps, and then Nancy laminated them - What a super idea. Thanks Nancy.

The potluck dishes were great - thanks everyone for bringing enough to feed our army. We not only have great trailers, but we have the best cooks.

Thanks Maggie and Marie for the Sing-a-Long. You really were great and singing was never better - the keyboard, accordian and the special songs were fun.

We had a special dance (Hula) - this was a treat for all of us. Thanks Marion Brown.

Lori and Michael and Carol and Jack began our day Sunday with Dutch Oven specialites. Thanks for getting up early so we could enjoy a real treat.

Nancy Wright and Darlene Harper took time to make out awards for everyone - thanks for remembering everyone.

And of course, we want to thank everyone that helped Jim and I in setting up, cleanup and taking down tables.

Our Leftover Luncheon finished the weekend and we left with happy memories and full stomachs. Our memories of this weekend will remain with us for a long time.

We hope we haven't forgotten anyone - please know that we thank everyone for coming, helping and enjoying our weekend at Lake Casitas.

Thanks Everyone.

White Elephant

:wub Carol did a very good job. She had little tags you could put on your trailer when it was open for visitors/looky-lues.

Also, Carol had a really fun White Elephant trade. I was able to clean out my garage. HA!:laugh

Everyone got a list of everyone attending. I hope someone got photos.

Great time had by all

Sure wish I had time to recount all the great activities, but sorry, have to work tomorrow. Anyone who emails me their mailing address will receive their real nametag in hard copy this week while the memory is still new. Hope photos will be posted. Lots were taken. This was a truly great event with lot of new people--only 1/3 more or less were repeats--the rest were new folks. That's wonderful for everyone!! More later, I hope.

Lake Casitas

A lot of planning went into this event and it turned out great. Thanks to Carol and Jim for putting Lake Casitas together. There were lots of new faces and some familiar ones. Plenty of Casitas to look at, great food, music and hula dancing by the campfire.

We took our time going home with a stopover in Monterey where we left our three Monarch babies sleeping in a bush. :sad Then spent another night in SF.

Thanks to Lou for the Handy Dandy Shower Drain Opening Gadget.
