35 years ago, give or take, my dad would hitch up the Aristocrat travel trailer, load 6 kids into the station wagon, and off we would go to a campground near Roseburg Oregon. The fish and crawdads were easy to catch, the weather warm, and the BLM delivered free firewood weekly. Nothing had changed except the firewood wasn't free when I took my family there last week. Only dissappointment was our dog Wiley had to swim and play in some of the other numerous pools downstream because dogs were not allowed at the falls. We spent 3 days there this visit as there was so much else to do on our vacation. We went through the Oregon Caves and rented ATVs at the Oregon Dunes. Spent a total of 6 days on or trip, went almost 1500 miles, and got 17.75 MPG towing at 60 MPH. I think next years trip will include Cavit Creek Falls again.
