Mary & Bob,
I will check with the wife when she gets home and let you know. It will depend on her work scheduled. I don't dare go camping two weekends in a row without her.....LOL

Sorry, but the Glimmerglass dates don't work for us. A shame since it's practically in our backyard. We'll catch up with you sooner or later.

Brian, thanks for the reply, busy time of year for everyone, we may end up going during the week for a few nights, a lot less crowded.

can't make Glimmerglass

We're Scamping in ME this week and can't make it the following weekend. May be able to do something at Copake in October. Would definitely want to have electricity. Keep us posted.

We are also booked for the rest of September. We could do an October weekend, though.

Bob and I are busy the first two weekends in October and most state campgrounds close after Columbus Day, so any suggestions? Or we wait until next year

Two nights at Pleasant Valley Campground in Bethel, as nice a public campground as we've visited, and four nights at Wilderness Edge Campground, just south of Baxter State Park, a very rustic setting with large private sites. Water and electric sites are typically $30 per night, but due to the size and cuteness of the Scamp, we were charged $25. Not too many folks at either place, as we had hoped, after Labor Day. Kayaked and hiked near Bethel and plan to do the same here, but severe storm is expected to roll in shortly and be gone quickly. We'll have the next two days to recreate before heading home. Baxter seems to be quite a place though we've barely scratched its surface,

We have abandoned this idea for this year, maybe next year, somewhere in the northeast.

Thanks for trying!

Sounds good to us. We may be done camping until we head south in late December. Thanks for trying.

We may stop by Jekyll on our way down, but won't know for a while.

We have two more camping trips lined up for this month, one a vintage rally in Vermont, the other in CT to watch grandkids next weekend. David & Rosemary, it would be great if you can stop at Jekyll for a few days, we think you'll like it. Let us know if it works out, we'll try to get you a good site. Most of the sites are taken by those darn snowbirds, but last december there were a lot of empty sites, but it filled up in January. We're not snowbirds, we're "winter guests"
