Fall Get-together

Hi all::wave
As I continue to read all the exciting news that is written before and after the rallies, I was wondering if anyone out there would be interested in joining us for a get-together in the Fall somewhere in Mass/upstate NY/Vermont. Let's chat about the possibilities. I would be happy to do the legwork.

Propossed Date October 17-18 & 19th 2003

Personaly i would like to meet in the Moose River Rec Area. Which is just to the west of Indian Lake NY.
The area Has no fees, No running water , No electricity!!
But it does have a nice man made lake . Sites by the Dam are nice sound like you are next to a water falls . None holiday weekends the place is rarely full actually even on holiday weekends i have always found a place to camp. aside from the lake there are aboundant trails for wandering around on . For the leave peeper it should be a good time i think it is pre peek color then .
anyway thats my input.
Al
I will talk to the ranger there this summer about a group event .
less then 30 days till next trip to the great coooooool north.

we're interested!

We're interested ! Give us details as to when and where.

As we understand it, Steve is putting something together for a September weekend at Barber's Homestead Campground in Westport, NY. But you can't have too many get-togethers, so let us know what you work out for this region. We'd love it.

We're interested in any and all...

Nathan and Daisy

Hummm I was just tossing out an idea!

But was thinking about doing some leaf peeping. Maybe with a lot of help and if there is interest a nice fall outing might be in the works.
time frame some time betwween 10 and 20 oct 2003
Location : Moose River Rec Area Aka Cedar River Flow
This are is owned by the people of NY and under the supervision of the state. there are 2 enterance to the area the first is just a to the west of the town of Indian lake on route 28. The second enterance is from limekin lake state park also on route 28. Both roads are over dirt roads.
This is a primitive area the camp groud has marked camping sites
there is no indoor plumbing just outhouses . there is a clean stream by the rangers offices for water but bring your own drinking water in i dont trust steams for water .
There is also picnic tables. Wakley dam backs up the ceder rive in to a nice small lake very enjoyable for canoers. miles of foot trails and
the cloud encased wakley fire tower. All those great things and there is no fee for useing it just carry out your own trash .

If this is your type of a campout maybe a few of us can get together

Moose River sounds great

Al and Mac

Count on us if plans are finalized for the weekend of Oct 18, we would not be able to make it on the 11th as Bob will be exhibiting in a craft show in Weston, VT.
The primitive campground at Moose River, or another with kayaking opportunities would be great. :lol
Hoping to meet others in the fall.
