Funny! With all the cost cutting going on in Nevada they tend to tell us where and when we will be "educated".

Believe it or not, I'm serious.

Dome Rock Camping Area; Google Map Street View
There is no "there" there. It is 5 miles Southwest of "town". The Pilot truck stop next to McDonalds on Main Street will have showers. A porta-potty of your own will be essential. The group will gladly welcome you to join them around the campfire.

Here are some photos to get the imagination started.....I have used plastic shopping bags tied up and then doubled into another bag and then kept in a heavy duty garbage bag......just don't leave it out where animals and get to it......I don't know what the BLM folks would think of it.

Okay gonna head down to Quartzite tomorrow, I need directions to Dome rock. I usually head south from Vegas cut across through Parker and on to Quartzite. Would it be better to head down to Blythe and cut across?

I go through Parker from the Bullhead City/Ft. Mohave area. At Quartzsite head west on the interstate or take the Dome Rock road to the south of the interstate. The rally is about 5 miles west of Quartzsite and visible from the interstate. Don't forget to stop at the campground host area and get your permit. He is on the Dome Rock road. Last year he had a large motor home with a US flag in front.
Last year you could see the bundle of fiberglass campers from the interstate.
If you see an EggCamper being hauled down the road by a big black Dodge pickup wave. That will be me. We're heading out in the morning too.

Steve - As you come into Q from the north on highway 95, continue south through the traffic light at Main, go OVER the freeway, and take the first right on the south side of the freeway (Kuehn) and head west on what is essentially the freeway frontage road. (With two blocks through the midst of flea market central) When you get to the Love Truck Stop the road name will change to Dome Rock Road but continues as the freeway frontage road.
If you're here between 9 and 3, stop by the camp host and pick up your no-cost permit and then continue west until you see four (yup) Scamp 19s surrounded by a sea of Casitas.

I would take California 95 south to Parker and then south to Q. If you go to Blyth it is longer in miles. Did you know the weather man is predicting RAIN for Friday and 30% chance of rain on Saturday. Hope to see you there on Saturday if it doesn't rain.

We are in Blythe tonight. Thought a last night with flush toilets and electricity might be nice. Can you save me a spot Steve? Arriving with the burgundy Subaru towing the Trillium. C U in the morning!

Lorraine, You'll probably be there before we are. Need to take care of some business in Vegas this morning then we will head down. Probably won't be there until mid afternoon. I'll have the Scamp 19 pulled by a Chevy Colorado with Wa. plates.

Quartzsite Gathering photos
I've just added a third post to the blog. Still don't have a Parkliner, but do have a single representative of most fiberglass eggs.

"It's Friday morning, so I guess the party has officially started in spite of the breezy and cooler weather."
If sitting in the shade and wearing a cap to keep the sun off your face and wearing a T-SHIRT is cooler weather... I wanna be THERE!
Thanks for the blog John... I'm living vicariously.

Me too. Thanks for the pictures. Quartzsite is always a fun place to be in the winter. Wish we'd packed up and headed down that way.
