BRRRRRRRRRRRR! Just got home to Vegas from Quartzite. And I thought camping on the Washington coast in June was chilly, Ha! This must have set some kind of record for cold this month. It would have helped if we had brought a working propane heater or my Honda 2000 generator would have ran. Why this weekend of all weekends to act up. Anyhow an incredibly talented group. Ukuleles, harmonicas, and singing around the camp fire late into the night.

I've heard different counts. George, the organizer, says we had 80-ish
trailers this year. We got a pic from a hill behind looking over the
field of eggs.
It was taken Sunday about 10:30am at which time a number of early birds
had already hit the road.
Enjoy

Bummer, I was already gone. With no heat for the 2nd night (my own fault) in a row and having to work Monday we decided to pack it up. It was a great time though and I will definitely be back next year only more prepared.

We are heading out on Friday at 0 dark 30 from San Fernando Valley. Want to hit Dome Rock early a.m. Drive is about 6 hrs. Glad to have missed the real cold. Weather for us looks good. Really looking forward to "junking" in town. Did any one go to Mountain Quail Cafe? We ate there last yr and it was real good, home style food.

We ate at Bad Boys Cafe while we checked out the swap meet. Still a lot of vendors there.

Really! Last weekend it appeared to be about 75% full. The more established ones said they were staying until the 3rd weekend in March. I thought I could make a great deal on some chairs if they were leaving right away. That place must be a real zoo if there are that many vendors there as we didn't come close to seeing all the shops.

Only venders along the roads now and not 10 deep behind the front rows.
The venders left re regrouping to the front rows, One jewelry vender had moved three times as the spaces next to the road became available.
As we left yesterday 12 Feb only left nine FG trailers at Dome Rock encampment.

You might find some straggler eggs. I'm planning to leave Friday 2/15 at noon-ish. (George, you can start a tab for me on royalties for ish.) If I haven't moseyed yet when you arrive then I'm the Scamp 5er with black Tundra and motorcycle.
Safe travel

Thanks for the kind words. My mods probably aren't for everyone but they made an awesome improvement in usability for me. Isn't that what it's all about?
From here I'll head south to Yuma. Gotta check out Los Algodones for my own self. See what all the hype is about.

Ahhh Los Algodones! I buy a bunch of Z pacs when I go down there. I don't need a dr to tell me when I've got strep throat LOL!
One side note, I definately don't feel as safe when I go down there anymore. Stay on the main streets and visible, hate to lose a great blogger.

Was a cold year in Arizona
Everyone,
Thanks for the great soup and cinnamon rolls. Sorry we couldn't stay overnight, but the old bones like it warm.
For next year you have to learn "Sweet Violets." For those of you who joined in this year, thanks.
I just had a thought. We have a Coleman lantern. Those things put out a lot of heat. Do you think they would work in an egg?
I attached a shot of the much sought after "Lil Snoozy".

Roger was that you over there singing "Sweet Violets"? We were with the really old Scamp 19' cooking dinner on the bbq. We heard the whole thing but by the time we finished and got over there the singing and carrying on were done. Still lots of wine and good conversation though.
