At last count I think 11 of the 20 campers had already made reservations for next year.

The 2009 Southeast Spring Eggscursion is scheduled for Lazy Daze Campground, in Townsend, TN, on April 23rd - 26th.

Because of the Spring Festival events in Townsend, it's difficult for the campground to block out spaces for a large group of campers.

Reservations can be made by contacting the campground at:

Lazy Daze Campground
8429 Highway 73
Townsend, Tennessee 37882
Phone: (865) 448-6061
Fax: (865) 448-9060

We had a great time and plan to be there next year!

We were the last to leave Monday morning & made our reservation for next year as we were pulling out. There was only one spot left along the river after we reserved ours, so someone will need to hurry to grab that one.

It was great to pull into a campground and see "our kind" everywhere! As someone said, we looked normal for a change and all the big rigs seemed out of place. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make the gathering a big success!

Hello,
My wife Gail, and I Terry, would like to thank everyone for their kindness toward us as we made our visit from Casita to Scamps to EggCamper, to a Burro and a Trillium, and also a 28' Coachman. We were really impressed by all the campers, but the one we liked the best was the one that belonged to Burro Bob, the 1980 Burro. What a quality camper and my wife said "Bob is sure the gentleman". Maybe that had a lot to do with us liking the Burro so much.

It was a nice awakening to discover just how helpful and kind everyone was to us. Just unbelievable. Just great beyond measure. We were deeply touched. We would be looking in one travel trailer and before we would leave someone would come over and invite us to take a look at their travel trailer. Lots of great advice that will be put to use in the near future.

To put this in perspective, Gail and I drove 9 hrs to from Albany, GA. to Townsend, Tn., just to get our first look at eggcampers. I have been studying on them for the past couple of months, getting information and quotes from the companies. We didn't know what to really expect. We left the campground feeling really good about buying a small travel trailer like the eggcampers and also with the desire to repeat some of the great fellowship.

As a side note, we discovered its a really small world. We had the pleasure to meet Terry & Pam Lewis. They once lived in Albany for a number of years, they knew several people we know really really well, and we fished the same waters. This is indeed a small world.

Hopefully we will be purchasing an eggcamper in the very near future, and we do plan to be in Townsend in 2009.

Once again, please accept this note as a heartfelt thanks to all of you who were at the campground and made us feel so welcome. Thanks for the Sat. night supper and the great music. EggCampers.........a great family.

What a Weekend!
We had 20 Egg campers ranging from 1979 to 2007 including Burro, Trillium, Bigfoot, Scamp, Egg Camper, and Casita, and 38 human campers. Campers traveled from KS, RI, PA, VA, FL, OH, AL, GA, IL, SC, NC, TN, and even Ontario. Also 3 nights of some of the best Dulcimer, Auto Harp, and Fiddle playing we have every heard by some of our own campers at the campground pavilion, and a great festival just down the street. The breakfast and dinner were also so much fun.

It was great to make so many new friends. It amazes us how different Egg trips are from regular camping club trips. With everyone having so much in common with their campers it seems that people bond and make friends as soon as you arrive and open the door.

At last count I think 11 of the 20 campers had already made reservations for next year.

Thanks to everyone for making this 1st annual Eggscursion such a fantastic trip and a special thanks to Mike & Kathy and Sheryl & Chris for making this happen. We can't wait until next year!!!

I have posted some pictures Here
Hey, Tom! Great pics! Thanks for posting the link. Some of us don't get out much; it's nice to camp vicariously!

Townsend really was a fun weekend, and it was terrific to be the "normal campers" for a change [as Sandra said]. This past weekend Chris and I camped at Bluff Creek, AL -- right on Lake George, and we were the only Egg Camper of the 80 spaces. As we were checking in, the camp hosts said "Well we can tell you don't need the rules, as we know you've been here before -- we've seen your camper".

We laughed about it later... it was our first camping at Bluff Creek, but it was sort of nice to know that another Egg Camper had broken in the place for us.
