I live very close to this area and the Delaware Water Gap area is beautiful. Used to go into this area a lot when younger and even know a well hidden large waterfall that dumps into a lake but i am way too old to jump off that waterfall now.

If I can make it up there with Rucio the Burro I will...I've been dithering because I have some work travel this spring that may displace other trips I'd like to do.

I might just go ahead and book a site and cancel if it looks like I can't go. But it would be fun to meet you guys, not to mention the opportunity for a newb to ask questions about how this or that in the camper is supposed to work.

Well. we have our first burro! Welcome and think warm thoughts, less than 5 months to go. If you do need to cancel, I think if before 48 hours they will credit you for another time slot. You are so close not to come.

OK, here is the official tally as of today, 3/9/11- we have 15 confirmed and 2 open sites available and there are 10-15 more sites in the surrounding area.
So, we should qualify for a 15% discount at least until we get 5 more eggs!
Now let's start some planning on some entertaining ideas. This is your rally and what would you like to see happen? There is plenty to see in the area if you look at the KOA campground site http://koa.com/campgrounds/delaware-water-gap/
plus seeing other fiberglass campers.

There are plenty of lovely hiking trails in the area if anybody would like to do, say, a half-day hike/photo walk? Bushkill Falls would be a super place for something like that, as an example.

Bushkill Falls looks like a great hike! Our favorite part of the rallys in TN were the tours of everyone's camper. It was great to see all of the mods that others have done and the features of other campers.

Sounds great! We're heading to the NY Fingerlakes next weekend, so we can bring some NYS wine to sample. The snow is beginning to melt enough to actually see the camper! Can spring be far behind??

due to some health issues with my wife I'm unable to just book a site for this though we wanna go..her chemo is scheduled to go into august.
So, we are wondering if they'll be sites near the reserved ones if we are able to hop on the road that weekend.
Anyone know?
Thankyou Bruce & Mary

KOA has a liberal policy for changes. I think and you may want to check with them, you can change a reservation within 48 hours of arrival and if later than 48 hours you can switch dates. Either way, if you have to leave early due to health they never charged me a fee for leaving early in the past. Call them and explain the situation, I'm sure they can help you and besides, camping is great for recuperation. Hope you can make it.

Hi All,

My wife and I are heading up to this KOA on Sunday May 15 for a few days and our first camp trip of the season. I will give you a full report when I return.

Anything you want me to look for in particular?

Can't wait for our rally!

Okay. It was a rainy stay at the Poconos KOA but it was good to get out in our rig for the first time.

Here are some pics. The ones of the flatter area, this is our area for the rally, those trailers are there for storage right now and the manager said it would all be set for our rally. They are very excited to host us.

The campground had nice clean facilities, easy to locate, and the staff was very nice. Since it rained we took advantage of the 75 cable channels. Overall it was a great stay and I can't wait for our rally. Enjoy the pics.

Don,
Thanks for the photos and report on the CG. It's nice that we're getting this rain out of the way before the rally.
