I talked to Kim (Possum) tonight and he says the "free fishing" weekend will be the 9th and 10th of June this year. But we still haven't heard from Casita Greg, who has organized the event each year.

I hated to start up a new thread, but I couldn't find the earlier Taidnapam thread in the list.

Hey all,
Just got the "wake-up call" from Barb on this. If everyone wants to do the June 9-10th weekend, (aka free fishing weekend,) I guess we should probably start getting this thing off the ground. Here's a link to the registration website if anyone is interested.

Some of the earlier members who attended the first Taidnapum get-together still like the original (Sites 1-52 section), which, if you recall, was the only one open back then. Since then, the new section, (Sites 100-107, 200-288 section) has all new sites, bathroom facilities (including ADA compliant), and much more room. There is also a large grassy common area near the new sites too. It's still everyone's personal choice as to which section they would prefer. In either case, one isn't that far from the other distance-wise.

I will defer to others who have been there before. I would like to be next to other FG trailers (probably no generators) ;-).

Q: Are dogs OK at this site?
Pets are permitted. I checked.

You probably won't hear any generators since all the sites in 100-107, 200-288 are full hook-ups. They have full hook-ups (20/30/50Amp power; Sewer; Water) at all these sites. There are also really nice bathrooms, deep-sinks, and showers. All first class facilities. Everything is well maintained and spotless. They really have a super crew that works for this park.

My thoughts after attending last year for the first time....... Yes, the old section sites are a bit more pleasing but the new section offers more of a "gathering" atmosphere. We have signed up for site 275 for whoever is keeping a running list. Looking forward to it especially in light of the snow and ice storm we're having at the moment<_<.

I post a wakeup call for the 2012 Taidnapam gathering, and take a few days to make up my mind about which site and how long to stay, and the next time I check, a bunch of of johnny-come-lately's grab all my choices

Well, I still managed to score site 277 (arriving Wednesday and leaving Monday).

You can't get rid of Sandy and Me that easy

However, this year, I demand, under the Bill of Campers Rights, better fishing and no rain !
