Absolutely! Thanks Frederick! I would also be interested in learning about cooking with a Dutch oven and just about anything else anyone would care to teach me!

YES YES YES to weighing our rigs, at least mine! I was HOPING you'd be offering rig weighing Fred, but I hadn't had the guts to ask yet...hehe

So at the moment I'm hoping for:
1. Dutch Oven Cooking 'Training'
2. Getting to weigh my trailer

Any other special 'workshops' possible for this trip??? YAY! hehe

Joe

I've had a request...

I'm wondering if anyone would like to do a session on Solar panels?

I would definitely like to attend a session on solar panels. I just got a panel and controller last week and am trying to learn how to set it up.

I have a quick question??????? Is this rally being held later than last years rally? Because I am going to be in Ojai again this year and last year when I was home in Ojai it seemed like the rally was the week after I left. And because this year I am going to be there longer I was thinking I would at least run out and peek at the rally. But either I am off by a few weeks or the rally is being held later in the month from last years rally. So I won't be able to run out and peek at all the egg's gathered in one place. But I was just wondering. Thanks Robin

I would LOVE to attend a Solar Education session too. I do not have a system yet, but would really like to add one to my rig down the road. So more knowledge would be a GOOD thing! hehe

===================

Hi Robin

The rally in 2008 was October 23-27

This rally is Oct 29-Nov 2

There will be 23 trailers there on Thursday the 29th.. If you are still in the area, there will be plenty to see. 36 Trailers will be there on Friday (30th) and Saturday (31st) nights.... and Sunday (11/1) night there will be 15 trailers...

The reason the rally is 6 days later is because there were more spaces available during this time. As of now we have 36 spaces reserved for the rally...

Thanks for asking. I do hope you are able to come or at least stop by to say hello.

Carol

Thank You Carol. I thought it was a few days later. That or I am totally losing my mind.......... Which is possible! But unfortunately I will already be heading back to Colorado. When this trip came up I thought, hmmmmmm I can stay longer and drop by but then I checked out the date saw/thought it was different but maybe next year I will make the whole darn rally. Just seems like the last couple of years there is a specific date I need to be in Ojai rather than visiting on a whim. Hope you all have a great time.............. Thanks again! Robin

Who is interested in the Dutch Oven session?
Count me in for the dutch oven sessions. If a list of planned recipes are available from Lori to choose from that would be great. Otherwise, I do have a enchilada casserole recipe that I made for the last potluck, and is sure to please a crowd.

Hi Cliff

Lori does have recipes and she will assign ingredients to each person for one of her recipes. You bring the ingredients, and your Dutch Oven, to the rally - and she will work with you to use the ovens.

I know she probably won't start work on this until late September or early October - but she will be happy to know you are planning on the Dutch Oven session. Yum!

We're getting closer to the rally .... and we're looking forward to having all of you there.

Just a hint for everyone attending. If you choose to participate in the dutch oven sessions, you will have something to bring to the potluck just after the classes. More people learning dutch oven cooking, more to add to the potluck table. Yumm!

I just got home from The Long, Long Trailer Trip.

I will bring my scales, and can weigh at your site. The procedure will be:
  1. You hitch up to your tow vehicle, releasing stabilizers and chocks
  2. I place the scales just in front of your trailer's wheels
  3. you drive onto the scales (about 1 foot forward)
  4. I record the wheel (axle) weights

  5. You back off to your original position, Chock your tires, and Un-Hitch
  6. you level up, but DO NOT set up stabilizers
  7. I place a scale under the tongue coupler
  8. You raise the tongue jack so the coupler is on my scale
  9. I record the tongue weight

Size:	159.6 KB

  10. you lower the tongue jack, and reset stabilizers
  11. I remove my scales
For those of you with 5th Wheel trailers, I will do step #7 [b]in the bed of your pick-up truck, just behind your hitch.
