Lake Casitas 2010 Rally October 28 to November 1, 2010

Reserve your space on/or after May 3

It's time to think about reserving for the Lake Casitas Rally. I have phoned the campground and the date they gave me for everyone to be able to reserve is on/or after May 3. Jim and I will be on vacation at that time, so Jim Johnson will be the one to respond to after you have a space and he will keep a roster going. (My computer will be down)..

Last year we had 42 trailers ... please make your reservations early so you won't miss out on your favorite space. We usually end up with a waiting list.

Jim and I will be at Lake Casitas from October 28 - checking out Nov 1. (Thursday to Monday)..

Like always, they have one phone .. when you call to make your reservation, keep dialing until the message comes on and hold on ..it usually takes awhile. You can fax, but I don't recommend it..... Remember if you need to cancel, the only cost will be $7.50 which is a non-refundable reservation fee, and $5.00 cancel fee.

Jim and I just made our reservation for Lake Casitas. As usual, we will be in BASS campground, site 50.. Checking in on Thursday October 28 and out on Nov 2.

Bonnie and Tao will be in site 44 ... that is where all our activities will be held.

Friday night will be the Hot Dogs around the Fire in site 44... no need to stop for dinner.. just bring your Weiners and rolls - condiments if you have them, and chips, etc are always welcome... cook over a roaring fire ..

Saturday, Ice Cream Social, probably a few round table discussions (any ideas?). We will have the Open trailers also on Saturday. Unless someone volunteers to be in charge of a Dutch Oven cooking session, we won't have one this year. Mike and Lori will be traveling.

Should we have the Halloween Parade again? Several folks dressed up and their pets, of course, as we marched around the campground... We're open for more new ideas of fun activities...

This is just a quick update .. I will post more when we get closer to the date... Come and join the fun at Lake Casitas in the BASS campground.

Jim Johnson is doing an excellent job of keeping up the roster and name tags. Thanks Jim.
If you have made a reservation, and are not listed on the roster, please let me know or Jim Johnson. We don't want to lose anyone.


The BASS campground is full, but please don't let that stop you. EGRET is the campground that we are suggesting .. it's .4 from BASS .. just a nice little walk, or drive, from EGRET to BASS. There are already two trailers signed up in Egret .. If there is a cancellation later, you will be able to change to Bass with just a few $$'s for a change fee. I believe it's about $6 ...

Lead a walk or bike around the Lake Casitas area...
Have a round table discussion on a subject you know or want to learn about.
Take charge of a game... or board games
Chat about Favorite recipes (Bring 15 copies of your favorite recipe and share)
Can you lead a Dutch Oven cooking session? (Mike and Lori will not be attending)
Lead the Exchange of books, CD's etc
Volunteer to watch the, For Sale, For Trade, and Free tables (camping items only)
Wine Tasting ... Bonnie will be in charge, but needs volunteers .... Appetizers will be appreciated at Wine Time
Sit and Chat Time ... Just get together and Talk about anything.

It's Halloween weekend.. Bring pets costumes, and your own... We'll parade around the campground on Saturday.

Please - we need a volunteer to hold the campfire in their space...


Friday night - Hot Dogs, as usual, around the campfire .. no need to stop for dinner- bring hot dogs and buns and misc to share
Saturday - We plan to have the Ice Cream Social again... donations of ice cream, cookies, cupcakes and help to setup
Saturday Night - Unplanned Potluck .. just bring what you've brought ...

Movie Nights... Maybe, if weather is OK and there is interest

This rally is to get together and have fun. Relax, join in, take walks, see nearby Ojai and other areas.. It's your fun time..

Remember: The gate is closed at night.. Times vary for summer and winter...Check for time, if you will be arriving late .... there is a small fee for pets.... and a fee for a 2nd car in your space ... (Tow vehicle and trailer OK)
