Lake Lopez Rally
Michael, we haven't received our site assignment yet via email.
We would like to do the wine tour and the dinner and any other activities. Our plan is to be there Thursday evening...we'll probably leave after lunch and stop off at two customers' on the way.
If possible, I'd like to borrow a Dutch Oven for the festivities. I don't cook and Tao is the original wok-man, so we really don't want to buy one...we'll never use it.
We'll both have the snapper.

Hi all,
We are getting close and so it is time to get out all of the information and get your wishes as to what you would like to be a part of.
FRIDAY
We are planning a wine tasting tour again this year. We will be going to Baileyana, Edna Valley, and Claiborne & Churchhill on Friday afternoon. Followed by a sunset dinner at Shore Cliff restaurant in Pismo Beach.
Please let me know if you would like to join us for the wine tasting tour. Also, please let me know if you would like to have dinner with us at Shore Cliff (cost about $19 each including tax and tip).
SATURDAY
Saturday we are planning a Dutch Oven workshop. We will be putting together all of the dishes we cook and have a Grand Pot Luck for dinner.
Would you like to be included for the Dutch Oven workshop?

Lopez Lake Ralley
Carolyn and I haven't bought a Casita yet, but plan to very soon. We would like to come to the Lopez Lake Ralley, hang out for a while and view the different floorplans and modifications. Is there a "best time" for us to do this?
Thanks Ron & Carolyn from Paso Robles

Wine and Food
Mike,
Charlie and I will have the steak. Also we would like to do the wine tour. What time do you think you will do the wineries? This will help with our planning on arrival time. Most likely we will have to come a day early or stay close by the night before.
Thanks

Barbara et All... :wave
Lori will be making up the recipes for the Dutch Oven Workshop. We will collect some $$ from each participant for the cost. Also, we are having everyone bring a salad or something.
More info to come in the next couple of days...

Michael:
We will be leaving Tuesday morning headed west. We will be spending a few days in the Apple Vally area.
What would be the best way to get to Lopez Lake from there. Back roads would be fine.
How is 166 from Cuyama?
Thanks

Nick,
Going through Cuyama would work. Long boring ride.
From Apple Valley, I would go through Palmdale, Santa Clarita, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, To Arroyo Grande. Then turn right and go 10 miles to Lopez Lake.

OK, Here are the plans for the Dutch Oven workshop at Lopez Lake.
First of all, I would encourage everyone to jump in and participate, even if you don't have a Dutch Oven. If you don't want to “cook”, you are certainly welcome to watch, and join in the meal that will follow.
2. If you do have one or more Dutch Ovens and cooking accessories, please bring them. Please email me with the sizes, so I can plan the dishes.
3. I'm purchasing all the food for the recipes we will be cooking in the Dutch Ovens and will provide everyone with a printed “cookbook” to take home.
4. The cost will be $15.00 per couple for dinner, plus either a salad or bread to share. Bring your own beverages.
5. The plan is to start the class at 2:00pm and everything should be done and ready to eat by 6:00
6. The menu for the workshop will include appetizers, main dishes, vegetables, desserts, and breads.

Pam and I would like the Snapper Veracruz.
We're not coming to the rally (unfortunately), but would appreciate it if you would Overnight Fedex us the Snapper Veracruz (probably should pack them in ice). It sounds delicious.
I'd also appreciate it if you would send me a couple of Lori's DO cinnamon rolls.
Hey, just because I can't attend the rally, doesn't mean I can't enjoy the food, does it?
Sounds like you have a great group! Have a GREAT time!

Oh man, Charles it was outstanding. I ate yours.
And too, we had probably the best waiter ever. He and his two helpers took really good care of us.

Welcome back! We need a complete trip report, with pictures. Maybe you or some other rally attendee could start another thread!
