Maryhill in May 2013

  • Chuck & Vicki #49
  • Norma & Paul #50

Norma and I will host a campfire Friday evening. Bring your chair and roast hot dogs at the fire.
Anyone want to (sorta) organize a craft beer exchange?
Saturday we'll have a potluck, again probably at our site (50).
Norma also acquired a ladder golf ball game set, so we’ll have that out if people want to play & maybe I’ll figure out how to play the Mexican Train game we’ve been packing around.
Maryhill in May is the least formal 'gathering' we've been to.
It started 4 years ago when I mentioned on the forum be there on a certain weekend and invited whoever wanted to join us. Six other groups came and it’s grown + the weather has been improved each year (we froze around the fire that first year).

Looking forward to seeing you at Maryhill in May!

Hi Maryhill Crampers,
Just to let you know that I came home from the fabulous NOG weekend thinking I'd try and sign us up for Maryhill, but, ALAS! I see the reason why annually we seem not to be able to attend this gig: it conflicts with an annual music concert that we faithfully attend here on Whidbey.

Very sorry to miss Maryhill once again, but Simon and I wish you all a weekend as SUNNY & SPLENDID as the one we just gushed and gushed about.

Cheers from the SOBers in CAMP RUN-A-MUK,
Sharen

Hey Barb I like your new handle - just a reminder - don't forget your coffee - it's a long walk across the bridge!

Well, I can do this BUT maybe Washington rules are different than Oregon Rules?

Maybe just to be different, instead of a craft beer exchange, those that like wine would like to do a wine tasting? Everyone that wants to participate, brings a bottle of local wine and a glass. Those that do bring a bottle of wine gets to participate in tastes... like 1-2 ounces (each bottle) of what's available. It's amazing the good wines that are out there, but you don't know about them unless you taste!

Come one... let's do something different at Maryhill...

What does everyone that would like to participate think? Wine tasting at the Maryhill SP gathering? 7 sharp on Friday night at Paul and Norma's site?

I'm game... anyone else?

Will the Friday nite tube steak roast taint the wine tasting?

Drink enough wine and who cares what the burnt hot dogs taste like

I bought a bottle of wine today on my way home from work in anticipation of this "event." I liked the label Can you tell I know nuthin' about wine?

Thanks Donna! Good idea. I'll try to squeeze in a folding table for the wine tasting.
Jim,
Same thing happened to me at Grayland a couple years ago . Its easy to get the dates wrong when you reserve so far in advance. Hopefully we'll figure something out...
Weather report is looking encouraging:

We are really sad but we will have to miss this event that we were so looking forward to attending. We are in the middle of some repairs that turned out to be more than we had anticipated. We still have our spot reserved for Fri. and Sat. night if someone wants it. :-(

Sorry to hear that TammyV....maybe next time.
Way to go Jim.
We'll be rolling in Thursday afternoon instead of Wednesday.

I'm looking forward to a long weekend of relaxing + its going to be Sophie's first trip anywhere since she lost her vision, so I'm going to be pretty much hanging out at site 50.
************************************************** **
Friday night:
Come roast hotdogs at the fire around 6:00 or eat at your site and come over after. If you want to bring a bottle of wine to share and join the wine tasting, that starts at 7:00.
Saturday:
Potluck setup at 5:30 & we'll start eating 6:00ish...

Leaving in a couple of hours for Maryhill. The weather looks great, even if a bit windy... it's the Gorge!

Don't forget the sewer donut, a bottle of wine for the tasting Friday night, big smiles and quarters for the showers.

Safe travels to all!!!

Great time! Thanks to Norma and Paul for not organizing the gathering

A little rain, a little cool at times, enough sun to get a red nose, a little (?) wind... but fun ALWAYS.
