Meat Cove Camping, Meat Cove, NS
Probably the most breathtaking, chock-testing campsite we've ever been in ... and we've been back twice ... is Meat Cove Camping, on the northern most point of Nova Scotia.

Here's the ocean side view
See the tiny little Casita .... way up at the tippy top of that cliff!

Notice
Notice there are no guardrails, ropes or anything else protecting someone on the edge from going over the cliff.
Means if you go out at night, best watch your step!

That's gorgeous
I think I would bury a tent stake near the front of the rig and tie it to the breakaway brake switch!

Sleep
How did you sleep hanging off the edge like that.

How did we sleep
I held onto Pam, really, really tightly, all night long ...
Figured if we were going to go, we were going to go together (and take the trailer with us!)

Open space!
I think Charles camped there because there were 1) no trees to back into, and 2) not even a defined camp spot.
Everyone else that came had to line up with Charles or THEY would be crooked.
Also, this is a picture of a 16' Casita so Charles sent us a picture of someone else (or a picture from a previous life).

Hmmmm?
Now that I think of it, maybe this is how you get rid of a 16' so that you can get a 17' Casita.
I can't make out the tow vehicle but I notice Charles has a new one of those too.
Hmmm?:r

Man Augie
Man, Augie, I can't put one past you! These photos were of our 2000 trip, with one of our 16 footers and a mini-van tow vehicle ... not to be confused with our 2002 Nova Scotia trip.
And, Pam tells me, we're going back next summer, 2003, and spend the entire summer ... at least that's what it looks like now!

If you liked Cape Breton Island, and you obviously did because you found Meat Cove (I didn't tow my previous 16' Jayco in there once I had scouted it out in my truck; the dang thing weighed too much for the truck on those hills), you will LOVE Newfoundland.
I know I have mentioned it before, but it certainly bears repeating. The Newfs are the nicest people I have ever met in the world!
If CBI is like Cape Cod was 40 yrs ago, then the Land of Newfs is like CBI was back then, except they have internet and DVDs...
I don't think the stake and breakaway switch idea would work on the grass in the dew...

Pete
Pete, we got the trailer into Meat Cove all right, no problem ...
But it was getting back out of Meat Cove, in a pouring rain, on that muddy mountain road, with no guardrails, that almost proved too much for me!
But hey, life's an adventure.
How can you see over the cliff if you aren't camping on the edge?
