Jerry,
We've been to Newfoundland 4 times, spending about 6 months there including one cross Labrador trip. We typically are there sometime from May to July though the first time we went in September. The unfortunate part of the September trip was we missed the icebergs.
In all our trips we have never seen a
Scamp or
Casita in Newfoundland, sort of surprising in retrospect though I believe a
Scamp or
Casita would be perfect, partially because it reduces the ferry charges.
We absolutely love Newfoundland and of course Labrador, even more rural. We plan to return so we can drive the new segment of the Labrador highway.
I can't imagine any issue with an August or September trip. I will say that to really see Newfoundland you need two months, at least and a lifetime would not be too long. The people and land are great.
Safe Travels,
Norm Milliard
