I wish you all sunshine for the entire rally and beyond. cannot understand how you guys got thru the spell (era) of rain you've had. just two days of rain had me nutso.

anyway, you sound as though you are all going to have a great gathering. please post photos !!! especially of the unusual rigs. where else can we see the perris pacer and the others?

I'll tie a leash on to my chair. Oh Sharon....wanna borrow a hunk of rope?

Hey now!!!! I want you to know for the record, I didn't partake of "THE" wine. But this time, I just might.... I dont' need alcohol to make my brain mush, it's done already. I will bring green salads again for both nights, probably a fresh fruit salad as well. Is that good? I'll bring some brewskis too. Just got the Trill back from the shop, they realigned the door and now it's is sooo much more road worthy than last October, Bill and Jacquie won't have a thing to worry about!

Really looking forward to it!

I'll take care of this later this morning. I'll post the directions here as well as send a message to Barbara.

Woohooo time is getting short! The warmest day of the year is supposed to be Friday too!!

Map Quest Directions and my comments.

1. From the merge of I-5 and I-205 just north of Vancouver it’s 42 miles to the exit.

2. Merge onto WA-432 W / TENNANT WAY via EXIT 36 toward WA-4 / LONGVIEW / LONG BEACH.(3.8 miles)

3. Turn LEFT onto OREGON WAY / WA-433. Continue to follow WA-433. (2.4 miles)

4. Merge onto US-30 W / LOWER COLUMBIA RIVER HWY. (1.5 miles)

5. Turn LEFT onto LARSON RD. (0.1 miles)

6. End at 75503 Larson Rd Rainier, OR 97048-3009

It’s not hard, just remember if you’re taking I-5 you have to go to Longview, then cross the bridge back into Oregon, then go west on Hwy 30 (Columbia River Hwy).

Shortly after getting on to Hwy 30, you’ll be going up a long hill. At the very top of the hill you will be turning left. If your vehicle is underpowered for the hill, you’ll need to plan ahead if you’re changing lanes.

Once you turn on to Larson Road…just stay on it and watch for signs. You’re out in the country on a two-lane country road. You’ll pass at least one cemetery and see the High School in the distance on your left. It’s heavily wooded and the park will be on your right, shortly after a stop sign.

I don’t know how to explain it any better. About the time you think you’re lost, you’ll see it.

The park host’s phone number is: (503) 556-9050.

So... I'm thinking I might make a side dish for Friday night, too (instead of a main dish). Maybe people can bring their own hot dogs to roast or burgers to grill for Friday night and we can have the sides to share... and dessert, of course. How does that sound?

Keep thinking sun!

Wow wee! A dollar a package is a great price. You don't have to bring all the sausages though. Others can bring some.

Spoke with Linda (park lady) this afternoon...so they know we're coming

Please remember, this is a first come, first serve park and there maybe "stickies" in ahead of you and on your spot. We need to be flexible. Linda said it's not a widely popular weekend, but we may need to move around a bit. Plan ahead, you may not get full hookups.

So far, Barbara B said if she's not there by 6pm tomorrow to give her spot to someone else...she's got elder parents obligation that just cropped up...but, she'll try to make it at least for Friday night (if possible).

Bill and Jacquie won't be leaving Eugene until at 6pm tomorrow night...they were late getting in, in October too.

The rest of you...see you tomorrow

I confess.

I drove out there last Friday to see about getting one of the cabins, as at that time (last friday) there was a strong likelyhood I was going to be back up in Portland this week.

However, plans change and that isn't going to happen now.

Anyway, the park was really easy to find. I drove up there without a map and just sort of "Winged It". Went straight to it. Donnas instructions as posted are perfect. (Yes, I went through Longview, but no one was injured)

There were 2 seedy looking motorhomes there that looked like they had "Long Term" stuff outside etc. If so, 2 of the spots in the full hook up area are used.

Crud! It would have been really nice to have had you there this weekend, Gina. Maybe in the fall.

I just checked the NOAA weather forcast for Rainier for Saturday.
Saturday: Showers likely. Cooler. Highs 55 to 60. West wind 5 to 15 mph.
NOAA says 60% chance of rain Saturday.

Weather.com is a little better chance of rain only at 40%.
I'll be bringing my EZ-UP and will prepared for rain.

Let's hope they're wrong.
We want

Here are a few pics of the get-together this weekend. Here are two of the campground and one of Paul's homemade marrionberry wine. (Of course, we didn't drink any of it because it was a dry campground. ) And... one of our main foods... okra!
