Lake Casitas Round Table Discussions

We're getting pretty close to rally time.. and I need to start working on "Things to Do".

I need volunteers to run a Round Table Discussion for Saturday morning, or Sunday anytime. Your choice of topic, and time, but please let me know...

I have Barbara and Frank who volunteered for Friday at 2:00.
Discussion: "Trailer Gadgets, Tricks and Tips" .

Last year (on Friday) we had a discussion on "Traveling with Pets". This could be held again on Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks, Carol

Lake Casitas Rally

Hi Everyone

If anyone finds they need to cancel the Lake Casitas rally, (and we hope not), please contact Jim Johnson and/or myself before calling Lake Casitas ..

We will have a waiting list and will be able to have your space available for someone wanting to attend. Private message, or email us, so we can contact you. We will need some time to work out details for the change.

If you can not find a space in BASS, the campground we suggest for you is EGRET. Not too far away and you will be able to have a fun weekend at the rally. As of now, we have 5 trailers reserved in Egret.

We want everyone to be able to attend.

We'd like to be on the wait list for bass if we are not already there. (we just need electric)

Hi Sue

We'll keep an eye open, but it would be a good thing for you to call Lake Casitas often - they have cancellations and you might be able to get one.

Rally dates: Check in Oct 25 - check out 29. Jim and I will be at Lake Casitas (5 nights) from October 25 (Thursday) - checking out Tuesday October 30 (Tuesday). Come early or stay later, like Jim and I, to spend more time at the lake.

Lake Casitas Reservations (805) 649-1122

Please post: nights you reserved, space number, pet(s) names, trailer

Welcome to the Lake Casitas Rally. Jim Johnson might be contacting you for misc information needed for name tags etc.

Don't forget the Pet Parade - dress Katie up for the parade, most folks do.

Keep checking this site for additional information before rally time...

Do any individuals want to get weighed at their campsite? It will involve hitching up to pull the trailer forward about one foot onto the scales and then backing off again.

Lake Casitas Rally Volunteering

Way to go Fred. Thanks again for volunteering to bring your equipment and weigh the trailers again, and for FREE ..

We just had our unit weighed .. $15

This is a bargain folks.. Fred knows what he is doing - and does a terrific job of organizing the trailers to be weighed.

How's this Fred?

  1. You hitch up to your tow vehicle, releasing stabilizers and chocks
  2. I place the scales just in front of your trailer's wheels
  3. you drive onto the scales (about 1 foot forward)
  4. I record the wheel (axle) weights
    Attachment 22306
  5. You back off to your original position, Chock your tires, and Un-Hitch
  6. you level up, but DO NOT set up stabilizers
  7. I place a scale under the tongue coupler
  8. You raise the tongue jack so the coupler is on my scale
  9. I record the tongue weight
    Attachment 22307
  10. you lower the tongue jack, and reset stabilizers
  11. I remove my scales
For those of you with 5th Wheel trailers, I will do step #7 in the bed of your pick-up truck, just behind your hitch.

Cool This all depends upon scale availability

I was not able to bring my scales to the 2012 Oregon Gathering because the company I work for had a customer with a rental contract during that time period. The same applies to this time period; unfortunately I won't know if they're available or not until the very last minute.

Robert and I will be in site B8, arriving Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday morning. Come to the site anytime on Saturday to ask for a weigh-in, or come to any site where I am performing a weigh-in. Make sure I write down your name and site number on one of my forms in my red clipboard box.

Hi Fred

Everyone will understand if you are unable to bring the scales. We appreciate what you do and will totally understand if you can't. Thanks for volunteering to help.

Frederick

I need to have my tongue weight measured. We got the truck and trailer weighed this morning at a public scale, but they were unable to do the tongue weight. I bought a scale at Bed Bath and Beyond that can weigh up to 400 Lbs, but the tongue came in at 454 before the scale came up with an error message.

So now I know it's 454lbs or more, but would like to get the correct weight. So sign me up! And thanks for doing this! I am in Space B6.
Thanks
Karen

Sherline Trailer Tongue Weight Scale

We have a Sherline Tongue Weight Scale - We paid $135 for it and would like to sell it for $75.

We don't use it every time we take a trip, but it sure comes in handy to see the tongue weight and not be guessing.

If anyone is interested we can bring it to the Lake Casitas Rally. Click on my name on the left and send us an email..
