Hello Again:I won't be able to go to Pa. camp out. I play the french horn in a community band and also in an orchestra. Naturally, there are conflicts with the dates for camping. Have a great time! Such is life. Are there any places for camping close to Wisconsin in November?

Jane and I are packing up and getting on the road this morning. We have a couple of stops along the way, but we'll be there on Friday.

Unfortunately, we have to cancel our reservations and try to get further south before Monday to avoid some of the weather associated with Sandy.
Sorry to miss this one.

I understand, but the weather says it will not effect us in Pennsylvania until Monday. I hope you are not be heading into it by going south sooner. Are you not heading to Florida as your final destination? Just watch the local weather where you are heading and have good and safe travels. East coast weather is so unpredictable, if it is not tropical storms it is snow!!! We will still be there @ Burnt Cabins today, if not just for the pumpkin pancake flour assortment.

Visitors welcome at Burnt Cabins?
Hi all,
We're a retired couple from Allentown and we are thinking about driving out Saturday to visit some egg owners. We had a Boler in the 1970s and are thinking about getting back into a small camper.
Unfortunately, we have no idea of event schedule and whether non-owners would be welcome. Any advice would be appreciated.

Sure come on down tomorrow, Saturday at Exit 180 off turnpike, you have a choice between Burro's, Scamp's, Escape's to look at. You can come down for visit and look see. Weather should be fine until Monday.

Well, Frankenstorm did not deter 3 forum members from having a mini-rally this weekend. With several cancellations due to Sandy, Corky and Darlene, Jack and his wife, myself and Noelia all shared laughs and stories from the road over 2 days of clouds and non-stop campfires in mid-Pennsylvania mountains. Last night the campground was decorated and we had dozens of local children that the cg owners invited for their annual Halloween screamfest in the woods. With all the activity we all forgot about the impending storm.
We are home safe now and have the hatches battened down, hoping Jack comes out unscathed and Corky/Darlene make it safely back home. We all had a tour of the historic mill this am and departed, making plans to meet again, same place, same time next year.
Pictures to follow.

Do not forget your dogs, Jack, they like mine get nervous when the pressure drops. Glad you made it, we had some good conversations around the fire. Say hi to Jean. Corky and Darlene are probably warm in the Scamp somewhere in Ohio by now.

Corky and Darlene, glad you're home and dry. We didn't have rain from H. Sandy until about 4PM Sunday the 28th. I filled all tanks in the trailer for ballast but had no real wind damage except I lost a huge leader from a Silver Maple "weed" in our back yard. Six loads to the DNREC lawn waste site with utility trailer, three today, five fills for chain saw. This leader was 22" where it broke off maybe 20' up so it was a test for my little 18" Stihl and also my back. I had this tree cabled between the three largest leaders fifteen yrs. ago. Putting off the inevitable as the leader snapped below the cable so I'll have to bite the bullet and have it taken down. Given the sheer volume of this tree, I'm cringing to think what it will cost!
