Got online Land Between The Lakes to look at reservation system and there is only one site available (43) in that loop. I called the park and learned that about 50% of the sites are first come, first serve.

Looking at the reservation system there are about 15 people reserved for that weekend in that loop. Wonder how many are fiberglass? Other loops are quite empty.

Since there are so many first come, first serve sites we will just come without reservations if we decide to go. The park person I talked to said Piney only fills on holiday weekends. So, maybe we will end up in a loop far from the others, or maybe we will luck out with a great site.

Nancy,
Since that is a holiday weekend (Columbus Day) maybe it would be better to reserve the nearest spot to that loop and then try to trade for one within the loop that is still vacant once you get there.

Nancy we were told the same thing last year and the park did fill up that weekend and it was not a holiday. You can make a reservation and then when you check in at the gate ask if there is an available site closer to the group. They will allow you to make one change.

Just reserved site 55 for just Thursday and Friday (have to go to Canada that weekend). Noticed that Bob and Pam had indicated they were in site 55, so perhaps they cancelled or are not getting there til Saturday?

Site 55 should be available. Sorry, but something came up and we had to cancel.

Maybe next year,

Site # 26 is available for reservation. Sad to see a non egg possibly getting that site.

If we come it will still be without reservations. Will watch the weather, if it looks good we will come on down.

Raz and I could only be there for one small gathering at the pre-rally rally It was great to meet Dennis, Hoby & Barb, and John & Rebecca if only for a short time. P'haps we will make it for the real thing next year!

The LBTLs is a wonderful area, as well, and deserves a longer stretch of time!

Thanks for welcoming us Vermonters!
Maggie
