Set up a location and date. It will build on itself once people have something tangible to plan around.
Tom...good suggestion for a name for a tentative rally. Since you are not a "rally" guy, if we would name it UHaul and Friends "Gathering", could we intice you to come? Your FGRV posts have been so helpful to us, would love to meet you and see your UHaul!

Thanks. The sad truth is that I'm really a 13 year old girl from Iceland with enhanced Photoshop skills.

We might be interested if it was close. Unfortunately with 2 working adults and young children, we can't go very far.

I would still love to see pics of all the uhauls herded together. :-)

Looks like the majority is in the Northeast. But since we winter in Georgia maybe we could put something together at least with us, Jane, Sean, George, and maybe even Don for next winter between Dec. 1 and the end of Feb. and I think Cindy and Kevin need another trip to Disney, I know we are thinking about doing it again. Anyone else want a winter trip south. Unfortunately we head back north the end of this month. Probably with a couple stops in SC, one night in VA, and maybe one in PA. The weather will decide.

If we go back to FL next year, and Kevin said that we weren't, I intend to go far south enough to sit on the beach in a bathing suit. We were near Marco Island the previous year; that was nice. However we left early and went to St. Augustine and FROZE (Why?!). They were having the coldest blast in several years. It was actually warmer back in Chicago. This year, it was cold at Disney too. Of course, the day after we left, it warmed up.

We will be at hunting island just past Beaufort, s.c feb 26 and leaving march 1, then up to chura s. c march 1,, what day do you arrive at Huntington beach beach? Could stop there march 1 if your there then, we have to watch the weather for back home because if a storm is blowing through we will stay put in s.c untill it's clear again.

Hi all, may I suggest Shenandoah National Park, Loft Mt. campground there in the southern section.
It is extremely large and sites are big and semi private. Sunset Views are to die for, critters abound, Waterfalls and hiking is great! Located on the Skyline Drive in VA, adjoins the Blueridge Parkway. Icelanders would love it!

I'm ALL for Mardi Gras next year. It's my fave holiday. I could meet you in SoCal and we can caravan there. Plenty of time to plan...

As a kid we camped there and it is one of the stunningly beautiful landscapes to experience in the good ole USofA. It was the first time, I saw "purple mountain majesty"!

CA: Lynne VDK (Lynne); PKTAJensen (Tom and Pat)
NY: Mary and Bob (Bob and Mary); Kirkman (Jason)
CT: Joseph Kristan (Jo Jo)
PA: CPAharley2008 (Jim) (Not a UHaul owner, but interested in our Rally, and is most welcome to attend)
SC: JaneSC (Greg and Jane)
NC: George Lauver (George and Rhonda)
FL: Djtriceflt (Don)
IL: Kevin A and Cindy L (Kevin and Cindy)
MI: Pam Garlow (Pam)

Gee, even if we don't get the rally together, it has been interesting to compile this list to see who and where our fellow UHAUL are.
Please add me to the CAli list. That's Northern Cali...this is a big state!

Typically do Ocracoke NPS campground, a lot closer to the beach than Oregon Inlet. There are others at Frisco and near the light house. Only $12.50 a night with a geezer card at Ocracoke rest are a little cheaper. All have the same amenities and Mosquitos are typically voracious. Hurricane Sandy ran us off last year and had to wait a couple of hours to get on the ferry. Still it ranks up there with Northern Ca /Oregon Coast and Michigan UP as on of our favorite off the beaten path places since we discovered it the summer of 73 while I studied Environmental Chemistry at Duke.
