Roslyn Trailer Rally

Does anyone plan to attend the Vintage Trailer Rally in Roslyn over Father's Day Weekend?

I know it's mostly tin cans, but would they kick out a vintage egg?

Most of the Tin Can Vintage Trailer Rallies here on the west coast are very welcoming to vintage eggs. In fact they welcome anyone who is interested in trailers. Some rallies may ask though that none vintage trailers camp in a special section away from the vintage trailers but in the same campground. Just send a note and ask if your welcome to attend.

How old does a trailer have to be to be vintage?

Yes! I believe any vintage trailer would be welcome at this event. At the Mount Baker Rally in Lynden the guideline is any trailer over 25 years old.
A lot of the people at Roslyn are the same bunch that go to Lynden and Demming.

I was there last year with my 1977 Scamp. There was a 1970's-era Trillium 1300 on a 4500 frame. Also making it's first appearance was a highly modified 2002 (?) Bonair.

Two blocks away at Ed Kelson's place there were two 13-foot U-hauls and a 13-foot Trilllium.

It is mostly dry camping. The only electric hookups I saw were over by the gazebo.

There are no showers which is now not a problem with my 13-foot Scamp. I can't wait to use my Eccotemp 5L hot water heater and 12-volt water pump for a refreshing shower at the end of the day.

There are several restaurants a couple of blocks away. I plan on having my own food as this is one of the best benefits about having a trailer.

I will definitely be there again this year.

I don't have time to post pictures right now but will try to later today or tomorrow.

Steve, as Jeff mention most folks consider 25 years or older.... they let me slip in with a 21 year old trailer though as the Tin Can Group decided none of them can tell the difference between a 30 year old Scamp and a 5 year old one

I'm trying to picture where in Roslyn they hold such an event- is there a campground there or do folks just occupy the City Park on the main drag?

It is held in Roslyn Pioneer Park which is about 2 blocks over and 2 blocks up to the northwest of the downtown area.

You can see it if you search Roslyn, WA in Google maps or some other map application.

I belong to Rollin Oldies Vintage Trailers on Facebook. This is what they say:

"Vintage trailers are those considered to be those built before 1980, or those built later with the same design as the original / vintage trailers."

I'm in Scamp hasn't changed anything on the outside, except the decals since their first manufactured trailer

I may just have to dust off the 1956 Shasta and go!

Francesca Seriously???? you own a Shasta? but doesnt it have a *lot* of wood in it? Thought that went against your trailer ownership principles?

The Shasta predates my Trillium ownership- and I only object to wood interiors in fiberglass trailers. This due to their distressing unbreathability...

The Shasta's beautiful original birch is just as good now as it ever was thanks to the breathable nature of its construction!

Depends on what Vintage group you are checking out, also. The Tin Can Tourists are an 'open' group that welcome anyone that loves vintage campers. Age of camper is not a reaquisite. I'm a member of TCT and I have a 1985 UHaul. There are many other eggs that attend their rallies. Francesca, do you have the small Shasta Compact? That's my favorite!

It's yer basic 1500 model that Shasta built for years...I think the "Compact" came a little later than my '56.
