We had a great meet this past weekend thanks to the great people who attended and the above and beyond cooperation of the Buffalo House/Buffalo Valley Campground staff, namely Darrell.
We were honored with an overnight visit from Kamper Bob who had to leave far too soon. Floyd, present for the entire event, was busy answering numerous questions related to little trailers and reassuring new owners that they could handle the routine maintenance that comes up. For the more immediate repair issues he applied his "laying-on-of-hands" technique.
Nightly Music was provided by our own Scrambled Eggs Ensemble of guitars, keyboard, harmonica, string bass, mountain dulcimers, flutes, and trombone. Workshop activities included origami projects and instruction on bread making. In the later each participants made a large round loaves of bread from start to finish.
About forty rigs attended. We had Scamps ranging from a skillfully salvaged '78-13 to a 2mo old '12-13 along with numerous 16s and 19s; a
Boler, at least two Casitas, a
U-haul, an
Egg Camper, two Bigfoots (BigFeet? hmmmm?), a Tear Drop, and.... cough...a sticky. Gotta talk to security.
L-III brought his tent and everyone brought good cheer and warm clothes. Participants came from FL, OH, MI, Ill,IA, Neb, WI, MN, Canada, AZ, "The Road", and possibly one from Sirus-B piloted by Ford Prefect and Trillian.
A great gathering.......It could have been a bit warmer, at times a bit dryer, and perhaps a bit less windy. But Hey! Today it is in the 60's and not a
cloud in the sky!
Thanks to you all for making the meet the success that it was.
