September 16-18 2011 Niagara Wine Escape

Hi: All. The 2011 Niagara Wine Escape is slated for the weekend of Sept.16-18th. at The Riverside Motel and Campground, 13451 Niagara Pkwy., Niagara Falls Ontario.www.riversidepark.net Call 905-382-2204 and tell them your with the Staceys or the Bolers or the Fiberglass Trailers, and they will try to put us all together. We are booked into site 52(Escape Central) and they have sites to accomodate all types of trailers and styles of camping. The rates will be the same as last year, but sites are limited so book early. This is a very nice cosy campground on the edge of the Niagara River between the falls and Ft. Erie.
I can highly recommend Betty's Restaurant 8921 Sodom Rd. Chippewa(Niagara's hidden gem) for the best home cooking you never cooked!!!
Lots of Wineries for sampling and buying!!!
Lots of activities at The Falls!!!
Lots of shade to just relax in!!!
Come on out to the Falls. Alf& Mary Anne Stacey

Unfortunately we won't be up that way until Oct when we visit my son up in North Bay, but this happens to be the campsite we had considered staying at on our way up. Glad to see that you like it well enough to have picked this place for a get-together. Makes me feel better about booking a reservation here.

John,

We stayed in that campground last summer without knowing that it was the location of a rally. Beautiful location, beautiful bike path along the Niagra. Just make sure that you double check your reservation (They have messed them up.), and if you use lots of electricity, ask for this. We asked for a larger capacity, got placed in a smaller one, and blew the fuse after we set up. They let us move, but that meant that we had to re-set up.

Hi: CindyL...I find I can "Blow a fuse" quite easy these days. I know that the Riverside can mess up res.'s so it's good to know what services you'll need and double check the res. by phone if necessary. We had such a good time last year and every one there wanted to come back...maybe even more???

I wish we could come, Alf. When school starts in late August, that distance from Chicago is not possible. We love the area! We stumbled on Betty's restaurant by accident when we were there. The food was to die for!
The area has our favorite fort to visit too, Fort Niagra. And the Canadian side of the falls is so great!

And we have gone through our Niagra wine.

So have fun for us.

Canada side, and yes a passport is needed but is well worth it. Candy and I had so much fun there last year. Good group of people.

Hi: All...Yes we are on the Canadian side of the Niagara River. We think we have the best views of the Falls on our side.
Passports make crossing the Border a lot easier these days for both sides. Our little gathering is quite loosely organized...campfire fri. night, do your own exploring/wine tasting thing Sat afternoon...and a yummy pot luck Saturday night to get every tastebud going. Last year a large group headed to Betty's for her famous Sunday Brunch. They can seat over 500 at a time!!!
Come early stay as long as you like...and enjoy viewing the various types and styles of Fiberglass Trailers.
Visit historic Niagara on the Lake and even take in a play at the George Bernard Shaw Theater or tour the historic Forts of the War of 1812!!!

Hi: cpaharley2008...Yes Passports are required if not to get into Canada... to get back into the United States. It seems they treat me like a crook when I come back home. Must be the guilty look on my face!!!
I'd sure like to see an Eggcamper there too!

Tweety will be there this year

Hello,
We are very excited to attend the rally, we just finished a trip bringing the Compact Jr named Tweety back from Florida to Ohio and after boating season look forward to camping in the fall. It will be about 5 hours from Findlay Ohio, but that is ok. We have a daughter that is moving to Buffalo so it works well.
We have contacted the campground and they will assigning us a spot close to the group.
Thanks and looking forward meeting some of our fellow fiberglass campers
Becky and Doug Asbury

Attached are a couple of pics and you will see why he is called Tweety.
