Ah, yes, Watership Down!
Thanks Lex. Beautiful spot. (Yes, I read the book. Your perspective is different than a rabbit's, though!)
Do you tow your BIOD through the Chunnel?

Yes, next to the rabbit hole :laugh
>> Do you tow your BIOD through the Chunnel?
Yes. In 1997 and 1998. After that they think their market share is enough. So it is too expensive now.

It is easier for me to talk in pictures then in words.
And because a picture is worth a thousand words, ..... ;)

>> 1000 WORDS; Is that metric or American?
Hi Michael,
If you got the point, it's American else it's metric. ;)
I use the message to complement you with the website and especially the forum. It's great. :banana
I learned that this is the month of tour 60th birthday.
Congratulations :cheers
As a 'present' I placed an mp3 on the web. I think it is suitable for your party. :drums I like this kind of music. It is a Dutch performance, but don't be afraid, it's in your language.
Have fun.

Everybody gets the blues now and then
and they don’t know what to do.
I’ve had it happen many times to me
and so have you.
But those days are gone and past;
I’ve found out what to do at last.
When I’m in trouble, down and out,
you can hear me shout…
Hello, Central, give me Dr. Jazz!
he’s got just what I need, I know he has…
and when I’m feelin’ low, and I’ve got those blues
he’s the one that can make me put on both my dancin’ shoes.
Well, the more I get the more I want to see him
I page old Dr. Jazz in all my dreams.
When I’m in trouble, down and out,
He’s the one who can make me shout…
Hello, Central, give me Dr. Jazz!”
Guess Lex is telling you to get out your dancin' shoes Michael!

Charles, thanks for the lyrics.
The band is the Dutch Swing College Band featuring Neva Raphaello.
This week I found what I have been looking for years.
In the sixties I taped a 10'' record of Lu Waters Yerba Buena Jazzband featuring the wonderful singer (and banjoist) Clancy Hayes.
In the years I re-taped the tracks til I had only one left :bh
This week I found it as cd, released by the San Francisco Traditional Jazz Foundation http://www.sftradjazz.org/jazz.html
Today I posted a letter to them to order the cd.
Clancy Hayes, the ''fiberglass'' of the singers!

Wow, that MP3 is fun
Thanks, Lex
I've never before downloaded an MP3, so I just clicked on the web link which you gave us to see what would happen. Windows Media Player did all the work for me. (I usually don't even turn on my sound system.)
Dutch band? Good night! Their English is better than mine! I watched part of the annual American Music Awards on TV this week and wasn't able to understand what half of the so-called performers were ''saying''.
Thanks Lex for your beautiful pictures....and for the nice music you have sent us.

George, the (lady) singer was a guest and not Dutch but English.
So that explains a lot. ;)
Here is another, one of my favourites (the saved one), pure American, especially for you.

Chunnel
Thanks, Lex
When you have time, tell us a bit about the Chunnel. I believe there's nothing remotely like that on this side of the Atlantic.
Do you drive all the way through or do they put your vehicles on a rail car or something like that?
I'm not claustrophobic, but when I see your photo, ready to cross under 25 miles of water, I might have a different reaction. I've ridden ''BART'' under San Francisco Bay, but that's not nearly as long as the Channel.

Mary, I envy you.
>> Eurotunnel:

It is a train tunnel. You have to drive the car on the train. It is very fast: the crossing lasts 35 min of which 20 min in the tunnel.
http://www3.eurotunnel.com for more info.

I'm very claustrophobic and have fear for heights (you call that 'vertigo'?). So, I don't like elevators, planes, etc.
But I've got no problem with tunnels!!
My wife Rita is not claustrophobic, but she doesn't like tunnels.
Strange!
The photo was taken (inside the carriage) while riding through the tunnel.
