Got back Friday from a 3500+ mile run with my
Casita. My second expereience with Oklahoma State Parks convinced me to avoid them in the future. Expensive and poorly maintained. Overnite the second night with my daughter in Austin, where I picked up my son-in-law for the trip. Next night in LA at Fountainbleau State Park. Very nice park, but the pull thus were on a one way road going the wrong way. Hook-ups were at curb-side.
Coffee and Biniets at Cafe Dumond, then a tour of the Garden District. Very nice.
Pushed on thru Mississippi, and Alabama to Florida. Cant speak highly enough of the tourist info centers at each border. Nice folks and a lot of help.
Fort Pickens was as clean as ever, less folks than what I've been used to when tent camping, but thats always been in warmer weather. The beaches, dunes, and trails were great. Trip into Pensacola to see the Naval Air museum. If you get down there I'd say it's a MUST.
The
Casita battery shot craps and had to be replaced during the trip, and when I got back to the St. Louis area to leave my trailer in it's storage yard, the chain hook on my WDH fractured. Have to get a new one before the next trip in March.
Stopped twice by folks who showed a great deal of interest in the egg.
Best to all
