UPDATE 2017 Dash Point SAG / SAFE
SAFE 2017 DASH POINT STATE PARK, SEPTEMBER 22 & 23 (Some arrive earlier, some stay later)
Activities: (good chances to exchange names and contact info for local FGRVers.) All activities are optional.
9/22 Friday TBA: Dave Fish (Site #39) may lead an expedition to Tacoma to see either a vintage car show or the famous Chihuly Glass Art. If you want to go, tell Dave Fish, site #39, by 10 AM Friday.
CHANGE/UPDATE:
DUE TO LEVEL 4 BURN BAN UNTIL AFTER 9/30/2017,
9/22 Friday 6 PM we have changed this event from a weenie roast to a meet & greet snacks & drinks event. We'll meet at site #37 (directly across from #39) but feel free to gather where you like after the brief greeting by Hostess Kai. Bring chairs etc.
9/23 Saturday 10 AM-noon or so: Open House. Bring a sign to show you're OPEN if you are. Walk-thru tours of our trailers.
9/23 Saturday 3 PM: Dog Events in large open field in middle of trailer campground. Leashed parade, tricks, costumes. Prizes.
9/23 Saturday 5 PM, potluck dinner, large open field in center of trailer campground. Folding tables, chairs, TV tray tables, pop-up canopies all welcome.
9/23 Saturday 6 PM following dinner: Gift Draw (if you wish to contribute a gift, see host/ess at site 37 on Friday if you can...).
9/23 Saturday After gifts: If we want SAG/SAFE next year, we'll pick a permanent name for this event and we can select /accept a volunteer host/ess for 2018 (Host/ess will choose next year's meet-up site & itinerary).
Everyone is welcome, CAMPERS, DAYCATIONERS, TRAILER LOOKERS, etc. Dash Point State Park has a beach, wildlife, trails for walking, and is near the city of Des Moines with restaurants, shops, a pier onto Puget Sound, etc, and within an easy drive of Tacoma and Seattle as well. If you can't come to camp, come to open house, dog event, and potluck dinner! ($5 parking fee in nearby overflow parking lot.)

I see a few sites still open... are lots of the reserved sites reserved by people in this group? I do not see many comments on this page...
PS if I get there and have trouble backing in, will slmeone help??? ;-) I have managed to do it before... with LOTS of back and forth!

Hi, Carolyn,
Don't know at this point who has what sites.
SAFERS have been quiet this year. I've been considering how many picnic & folding tables we can line up for events, how many pop-up canopies we can use, etc...hard to say. Luckily, most folks do bring their own chairs!
Backing in? By all means, let Paul know (site 34). He'll be there 19th on, and is more than happy to help with such camping issues.

would you start a new thread for the 2018 gathering? This one starts off with a list of what is happening in 2017 and that might confuse people who think it is talking about this years gathering.

2018, Sept 19-22: 2018 SAFE -- Seattle Area Fall Event, Dash Point State Park
That's the FGRV site for the 2018 SAFE...it's nearly identical to this one. WATCH the YEAR in the titles.
Note to moderators--any way to put this 2017 rally post on a back burner or something?

It's in the rallies ARCHIVE already. That's pretty much back burner... by definition. I made the title of the newer event a hotlink; that will hopefully help. And, I will close this one, so no more posting to it.
