1972 Boler porch light
I have a 72 boler and on a recent trip it made with a friend the original porch light got broken. I've always liked the look of it since it has a old school house light look to it, does anyone know where I could find another one or something similar?
Thanks!

Could you post a photo of yours or find a similar photo? I can't visualize it. Maybe that would help others, too, so you could find one.

Brian,
Oh no! I *just* yesterday took one exactly like that off my Boler and pitched it. Let me see if I can dig it out of the trash! If I can, it's all yours.
(And it's weird because I normally don't throw stuff like that away, and I did think twice....)

Argh, I think the light might have been in a box I took to the dump. But I'll double-check tomorrow and let you know.

How badly is the old one broken?
Mine broke a couple of years ago and I just glued the pieces back together.

It's not too badly broken, it's just about half of the "roof" is broken off. If I had the piece I'd totaly glue it back together, but unfortunately I don't. I'd appreciate it if you could check if you still had yours
Thanks!

Mine is still fine, what happened to it was that part of the black top broke off and was lost. What I did was cut a replacement out of a scrap piece of black plastic and glued it on.

Brian,
I double checked, and I'm really sorry, but for once I decided to throw something away, and I went to the dump shortly thereafter. Now I'm kicking myself, as I would have loved for you to have it.

Here are another couple of photos to give people the idea. These were taken on a '77 or '78 Boler (don't know exact year), by the way, so they used them beyond just 1972. Sorry they are a little blurry - I cropped.

I am still on the hunt. I had an idea today for anyone who has been thinking of upgrading to a newer more modern porch light, if you send me the link to it I would buy it for you and have it shipped to you and I would cover the shipping for your old one. Hows that for a deal? Can you tell I really want one

Brian,
I wonder if you could have the mods edit your post title to say something like "Looking for Boler porch light that looks like a little house." The thing is, we have established that these were used at least in 1972 and 1977 or 1978, so I would not be surprised if they were used all through the '70s on various years/mfg plants, at least on some Bolers.
Not that many people have a 1972, specifically, and they may be skipping over this thread altogether because the title is specific to 1972.
