My tow vehicle is a little 2002 Lexus w v-6 engine and everything is stock equipment including springs & shocks: see photo. It tows great- wife even loves to drive it and she's a "Scaredy Cat".
Generator only weighs a little over 60lb. My 'Lodge' Habachi Grill almost weighs that much; you add gas can & fishing stuff etc to rear cargo rack. ie... the fact is
weight distribution has never been a problem in over 5 1/2 years. It's easy to "eye ball" the hitch ball as you're cranking down the jack to couple up. After coupling, My rule of thumb is to check that the level bubble is a "tad off-center" toward the rear of trailer......if it is then it's a go!
One thing, re the Lexus, I always turn 'Over Drive' off when towing.
