A minimalist's 1973 Compact Jr. $3500

Selling this gutted & re-designed "open floorplan" Compact Jr.

The total weight (packed for camping) is 1120 pounds. Our buddy Frederick weighed it with special scales at a rally — the lightest fiberglass trailer he has ever weighed.

Features:
- New exterior paint
- Beautiful new plywood floor
- New insulated walls (EPS covered with canvas fabric)
- Original windows cleaned & reinstalled, sealed
- New plywood benches run the length of the entire trailer
- Original sink & 3-burner stove, new countertop
- Custom tongue that carries spare tire, battery and propane tank
- New spare tire

Fits in a garage. Has been towed by a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Well-documented renovation at this tiny house dot com.

Please private message me if you're serious about making an offer.
It currently resides in San Diego, CA.

Pictures would be most helpful...does the lack of mention of heat and refrigeration mean it doesn't have those things?
Also:
What's your asking price?

Thanks!

Francesca

These are old photos but they show specific things:

1- the exterior look of the trailer
2- the varnished floor we put in
3- the plywood benches and center piece to make a bed. You can also see a corner of the aluminum plate countertop we installed and the original 3-burner stove.
4- the rigid EPS insulation we ended up gluing directly to the fiberglass. Very nice R-value. The walls are now covered in canvas cotton (not pictured). The original vinyl has been kept in the pop-up portion of the ceiling.

We removed the 1973 refrigerator & water tank. No heater -- cooking dinner provided enough heat for us. No wired in lights, 2 DC outlets we used for plugging in small appliances. Solar battery charging circuit. Probably needs a new battery.

Asking $3,500.

Looks real purty!

How's the condition of the upper vinyl/canvas, and what can you tell us about the exterior paint job? (Prep, application method, type of paint used etc...)

Thanks!

Francesca

This trailer is item #3 on my spreadsheet:
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...rld-43010.html

I would say it is the lightest complete trailer I have ever weighed.

Michael did a fine paint job. I don't have details except that it's regular exterior paint. No gel coat or any fancy stuff. (This is Hillary typing in Michael's account.)
