For a certain segment of the population, wanting something minimalist but not willing to build it themselves, this could be a very cool thing.

Not my choice. I do not find it attractive. However, considering I will be picking up a Silver Cloud in less than a month, obviously, my style is not minimalist.
Still, I think my first tiny camper, the Burro, was sharper.

Oh yeah there's nothing ascetically appealing about the outside of that camper.
They took a very basic cargo trailer and made it into a simple camper. Anyone could do it. For those who don't know they can do it or choose not to, $5,000 for a place to crash and cook basic meals is probably pretty doable.

They're not bad for the money...as someone said....starting out and you dont want to invest in alot of TV OR RV, this could be a good "starter". They're made right here in my home town of Columbia, TN. I've stopped by and looked into some of them. You get ALOT more for your money than you do these $12K Tear drops like I just saw at a recent RV show!!
The Eureka's are not flashy, but again, they'd make a nice "first" camper for someone just wanting to "test the water". They make some nice camo-colored ones that would fit the bill for hunters and a minimum price.
Here's the price-list page that lists some (like a hunter may want) cheaper than the $5K mentioned above.

Yeah really.... Obviously you havent checked out the prices of the OTHER "low-head room" trailers. That was my point. These trailers for $3-4000 vs... $5000 for a '14 model (37" Interior height) Little Guy- see below. Price some of the newer ones- Shadow etc. for prices $10K up .

At least the Little Guy trailers look like they would hold together long enough to actually get off of the dealers lot; not so sure about the Eureka camper.

Dunno about durability and prolly never will. I'd prefer my Scamp over those OR the "Little Guys"....especially for the money.
One thing I didnt care about the Eureka's were the SMALL tires. We gripe about the 13" on our trailers at times but those are even smaller...looks like they came off a lawnmower. I'm sure they would carry the lighter weight of those trailers but wow...they'd be turning some R's!

Well I'm really not sure anyone is saying we should be considering these over our trailers. Or in any way compare them to a fiberglass rv.
I think the point was just to draw attention to a nice little trailer, at an affordable price.

The point was reached. There's nothing wrong discussing likes/dislikes or even comparing them to others.

Not everyone wants or can afford an all-molded-towable. There is room and desire for many different types of trailers. I believe it's about making memories, not necessarily what you use to make them. So, while it definitely isn't for me, I can see where a young family would find it desirable.

To me, the slide in truck campers look interesting and at 600lbs, virtually any truck can handle it. Plus it has 63" of head room. If I had known about these a while back, I may have tried one out instead of my $3000 ARE Cap and BedRug.
I like the concept and obviously the price is great for an entry level unit.
Could make a "store room" to complement our little eggs, or even a second bedroom for when extra people are coming along.

Is it just me or does it look like a slide in bolted to a trailer marked up 50%?

If i was interested in a light weigh pickup camper I'd certainly be interested because of the aluminum frame and quality instillation (SP?)! No rotting wood sticks in that baby in a few years!
But, I'm not...but I think it's a fine camper/trailer for the price.

The Eureka "Pull Behind" campers are also completely welded aluminum channel body structure just like the "Slide In" models.
These "Pull Behind" campers are also purpose built campers and are NOT "Converted Cargo Trailers" as suggested in an earlier post.

I was looking at the pictures of the model with a drop floor at the back. It's the only one with stand-up headroom, but it looks like it would be extremely vulnerable to tail strikes. Most drop floor designs I have seen lower the floor ahead of the axle for that reason.
