Going to sell the burrito

Hi folks, some have followed my adventures with my new burrito. Hubby says it's too small for us to fulltime for a year. If I want him to fulltime, he wants something bigger. I'm hoping to write a book on vanishing wilderness, so...and have been taking notes during tent camping.

I almost feel like my burrito has a personality, like a little puppy, and I feel kind of guilty. We cleaned it up, as it had dog and cat hairs, I cleaned the weatherstripping with stuff recommended on here, and spic and spanned the whole interior. The sort of amazing thing about the burrito is that because it was stored under cover in western colorado most of its life and not used a lot, it's really quite intact. Even the cushions don't look used. The one thing I haven't done yet is fix the chipped thing on the front, that has to do with the propane heater, but maybe the next person can do that. I was advised to replace with a circular $4 electrical outlet cover if I didn't like the chip.

I will post the photos later today, but if you want to see on my long thread, it's on page 5:

Meanwhile, can someone tell me what they feel about selling on ebay? I have never ever sold anything on ebay. If I were to do an ebay auction, how do I reserve the right to sell to someone off ebay (like on the forum here, or the other fiberglass forum) or locally? Can I establish rules for my auction where I do get to sell locally? Or do I have to make a buy it now price for that? If anyone has any assist for me, please let me know. I'm a little nervous about ebay but I do know it widens exposure and people have been very happy with the response.

I have to say the thing I like most about the burro, for my particular taste, is the double walled construction. Those fiberglass walls inside are so clean and smooth. I do not really like the carpet on the casita walls. Also, I went into a spirit deluxe last weekend at the park we were at, and the ceiling seemed really low. It was 17 foot so the ceiling was 6 1.5. Lower than my burro.

Anyway, any advice from experienced folks on selling would be appreciated. Thanks! Pictures to post later this afternoon.

How much are you hoping to get for it? Would you prefer to sell locally?

I don't care whether I sell locally or not at all, I just want someone who appreciates it.

It cost me $5800 and I paid $900 shipping. I assume I'll take a loss though not sure because of my shipping costs, maybe there will be a feeding frenzy, I'm posting now on the other forum and put $6200 obo. That's mainly because I did some work on it already with lots of cleaning and the cleaned the weatherstripping with barkeepers friend etc. I really have no experience in this. It is in terrific shape though.

You set the rules, in other words if you do list on Ebay you must specify that it is for sale locally and you have the right to end the bidding early. The down side is you may scare away last minute bidders, because that is who buys the item. I'd try here and craig's list for awhile and if no bites, then go to Ebay. You then decide if you want to continue to sell outside Ebay or not, if you decide not to then you can delist it here. Your choice, but remember the further in the year it goes, the more the price will drop.

The main reason I'm interested in ebay is there is a fellow who listed on the other fiberglass forum for about 2 months. Someone on here let me know about it. It was a project trailer for about $2900 I think? I'm trying to remember if it was a burro or a boler. Anyway he had no bites. Then he put it on ebay--the day I wrote him, actually. And he had a feeding frenzy, and he sold it for a buy it now within 24 hours. He said he could have sold it 4 times over. He sold it fairly locally--it was here in GA and he sold it to a couple in NC. Well, that does sound pretty ideal! :-)

Maybe I'll just post on ebay with a buy it now?

So are you listing it here now or do you want me to move the thread?

Well I just put it on the other forum, and on ebay. The ebay process was okay but I have never done it before so...I hope I did it okay. It insisted on a starting price. I made a reserve price and a buy it now price. I have no idea what will happen. :-)

If you want you can archive this and I'll start a new listing that links to my two threads here and ebay.

Please advise. I'm newbie to selling anything.
