HI all Compact 2 owners! I have a '73 I am updating and I just had the vinyl logos re-output. It was a $30 minimum so I had to have 4 SETS (front and back) MADE! I have 1 set of black and 1 dark smokey metallic (looks Black) available. You will need to pay postage but I surely dont need all these. I have also uploaded the vector pdf if you want to get your own set made at a local sign shop.

Scott,
Good timing as I prepare my Compact Jr. for a repaint. I took a picture of my faded logo in hopes to redo it. Your effort would save me the trouble of duplicating it in a vector format. Please let me know when the vector format is available. Thank you.

Cliff take the PDF to your sign maker. A PDF can be opened in Illustrator... it is THEN vector art. OR, if you have the full version of Acrobat, open the PDF and do a Save As... EPS. Underlining PDFs is postscript. A PDF is just a viewable version.

Hey Guys,
Okay, Shelly's logo is the sticker that goes on the bottom of the trailer door right? But what about the logo on the stone shield on the front? Mine's pretty faded, but I can still see it somewhat. Is that something I should just try to get someone to freehandedly paint, or what? It would look pretty neat to have it refreshed...
And those are the only two places that us Compact IIers have logos, right? I don't recall seeing one anywhere else, not on the sides like the Jrs or anything...
Anyway, just wondering...
Joe

this is a vector PDF... I've been working with Donna to add an instruction file to the pdf. since you asked, here's the full answer.
This PDF was originally created in Adobe Illustrator (vector) and saved as a PDF so it could be uploaded to the FiberglassRV.com web site.
Your local sign shop should have Adobe Illustrator to run the vinyl cutting machines they use. If they drag this file into the Illustrator program (force it to open), the vector lineart will be restored and ready to send to the cutter. It’s important to let the shop know that the logo will be for outdoor use and they’re best vinyl and adhesive is a must.
Any reputable sign/banner shop will know what this means, if they do not, keep looking. The vector art converts the image to lines rather than pixels. This allows the art to be sized as large as a semi truck and still remain crisp and clean... exactly what we want.
Your new decal can be made in what ever color of vinyl the shop has in stock and can even include metallic/chrome, so you are not limited black or white. The shop will supply the decal with a sticky semitransparent paper (pre-mask) on the face of the decal. This keeps all the parts of the decal in place while it’s being applied to your trailer. The method of application is to peel off the wax paper backing to expose the adhesive side of the decal and then stick the decal where it needs to be with the “pre-mask” still intact. while the “pre-mask” is still covering your new logo, you can use a credit card to squeegee out any air bubbles in the decal. the final step is to slowly remove the “pre-mask” exposing your new decal.
Application tips:
Clean the surface well. It’s a good idea to use masking tape to create a straight line for your decal to be applied on. The tape can be removed at the end just before you peel back the “pre-mask”. You can tape your logo in place before you expose the adhesive, stand back and take a look at the position to ensure it’s where you want it. Take your time here... once it’s stuck, it’s there for good.
If the decal is large, it’s a good idea to liberally spray down the surface with liquid Windex (not the foam). this will allow you time to move the vinyl around to the perfect position before you squeegee the Windex and any air bubbles out from under the decal. The Windex will not effect the adhesive, once it evaporates, your logo will be quite permanent.

I posted what I had for instructions even though you wanted to refine them, sorry. we'll fix then up when we get the logos into their own folder in the document section. sorry again to jump the gun... sounded like some confusion in the thread.

Hey Joe, Im not sure about yours but both the logo on the door and the one above the window in the front were the same on my 73. Happy camping.

And, we're still working on that Scott. With a change of ownership of the site, that had a ripple effect because we changed servers and other provider types. But, I haven't forgotten about you or what you're trying to accomplish!
