It is a Scamp, albeit not a $5900 one.

I don't think Scamps had that large window on the street side.

Could be wrong, haven't seen that many THAT old.

Pacer wasn't produced until 1980. Aside from that, I've never seen one (drooled on over a dozen in person, plus pics) that had square windows. They are all rounded. Additionally, the Pacer's exterior door handle hardware is distinctly different, and the door is molded so that it couldn't just be "replaced" with a different kind of unit without serious modification. Pacer wheelwells are also arched higher and have skirts bolted to the body. Even with the skirts removed, the cutouts are a different shape. Among other things.

But it does have a few things that stand out as being unique to Pacers as well. Ie; lip on the countertop, water filler location.

Not saying it's 100% for sure Scamp, but I'd eat my hat if the vin tag says it came from Perris. Interesting though.

I hope your hat is tasty, Angelo. That's a Perris Pacer... the first version. They began production in the early '70s with a 1974 trailer being the earliest I know of with the large sliding window on the street side. The large window continued through the '80s production; they just used the rounded corner style in the '80s version.

Here's a link to a photo of an '80s model streetside in our albums.

Here are a few posts about the history of the Pacer:

This may be a Mystery Egg.

Angelo is correct about the wheel well, and the 74 in the pic Rog posted has the skirt. The few PP I have seen all have this skirt. Too bad the pic is so small, it can't be made larger without loosing everything.. I would like to see if that skirt MAY have been there at one time.

I have NEVER seen a Scamp with a big window like that, and the only egg I know of that had them was a PP.

It's a mystery!

Looks like a scamp to me, albeit a Scamp with the windows replaced with larger square ones.

Well, I certainly stand corrected on my 1980 statement.

the mystery deepens. That window is way far forward of the mystery trailers.

And no, its ain't worth it, . whatever it is, an almost 6k $$$$ 13 footer had better have gold plated rims and and exotic wood interior...

I checked this trailer out this weekend. I thought maybe it was so renovated that it would be cheaper than fixing up my 76 Scamp. No.

I don't know much about trailers and I didn't see this posting before I went out or I would have paid closer attention to solve the mystery for you. We thought it was odd that so many things like windows and hardware had changed in one model year. Then we noticed that it said "Land and Sea International" instead of Scamp on the name plate.

I've heard of the Land and Sea... thought we had an album with pictures hummmmmm. It does look like a Scamp (or other egg shaped trailer!)

If you've seen it twice recently it isn't a surprise. The lady currently listing it lives in the Santa Cruz mountains on some property with a fairly large lot. She had a half dozen or so small trailers (pop ups mostly). Her daughter said she buys, "restores" and sells them. They only had that one a month or so.

I wasn't looking for differences but the shell shape and interior were the same. The bunk supports, bumper, windows, cabinet doors and hardware were different from our 76 scamp.
