Thanks to everyone who responded to this.
After much thought, we've decided we can't part with our Scamp. Will do a few mod's. The positives of our Scamp just outweigh everything else (as anyone who owns one knows).

Chad,
Do you have the standard or deluxe model? Also, which bathroom does it have - side or front below the bedroom? We live in Albany and may be interested.

As much as I hate to, I'm selling my 2000 Scamp 5th Wheel.
I've had it a little over a year and used it about 5-6 times. The previous owner used it 3 times. So it's in excellent condition. All local camping, nothing over 100 miles in distance. Just put new tires on it, everything else works great.
It's the Package 5er with the bathroom. Any other questions, feel free to call.
Asking price is $9,000, may be negotiable.
Located in Baton Rouge, LA.
Home Ph#(225) 647-3870 ask for Misty or Chad.
Could possibly email pictures although I'm not totally sure how to.

It's the deluxe, I'm pretty sure. The bathroom is straight in front of the door when you walk in, so I guess that would be side? Mine has a bunkbed/couch directly under the bedroom. I'm going to try and take some pictures with my camera phone this weekend and see if I can post them. Any questions, feel free to call or email me at chad@dmicontractors.com.

Chad the Deluxe is an all wood interior. The Standard has fiberglass cabinets and wood doors.

Chad,
I don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to see some pictures. Also, does the 5th wheel attachment in the back of your pickup go with the deal?

Thanks Donna, shows what I know. So the answer is now-Standard.
Chris I will try my best on the pictures for the weekend and yes the hitch in the back of the truck and the wiring plug in comes with it.
It really is in good shape and everything works except for the little vent fan on the roof. Never did figure the problem out with that.
We loved the camper when we've taken it, but with my 2 kids getting bigger (in a hurry 10 and 14) and me also getting bigger in a hurry (I won't go there), we just need something with a little more room.

Chad,
I was hoping you had the deluxe model with the larger bathroom which my husband wants. I'll tell our camping friends about yours to see if anyone is interested. Good luck with the sale of this one and finding a new one.

I pull it with a Nissan Frontier crew cab. Barely know it's there other than the gas mileage.
I might be able to work something out depending on the distance.

Hi,
Is this unit still available? What kind of hitch setup? That Nissan Frontier Crew Cab, is that a long bed or short bed? How much does pulling one of these drop your gas mileage?
Thanks!!

Yes, it's still for sale. It's a goose neck hitch that is bolted into the pickup. Really simple actually. I'll take a picture today and post it tommorrow.
I have the long-bed pickup, not sure if short bed would be different. I know that the man I bought it from had it in a small mazda pickup before.
Normally I get about 18-19 MPG in my truck. When towing I get probably 15-16 MPG.

Taylor, I can honestly say that just about every day I go back and forth whether I want to keep it or sell it. As for the camper itself, I love it. I mean, reliability wise and all it's got to be one of the best on the market. If I could split it down the middle and add like a foot to make it wider, I wouldn't ever get rid of it.
I'm still really debating it. But, with me being a pretty big guy, my wife, my 2 kids, the dog, and occasionally my Mother-in-law, that's one full camper.

CHAD.. if your still debating i would wait till I knew I could let go. I know the first time I was gonna sell my 13 I really had mixed feelings about it... as we do get attached to our eggs. Then when I made up my mind I let it go to a really nice home and knew 'she' would be ok....
I think there was a tread on ' are you selling your scamp for all the wrong reasons? I am sure it was before the hacking...

Yes it would be a bit cramped, we are going to start camping with our 4 grand children, In the wet Northwest. We will leave the tribe with Mom and dad tell it is a bit warmer

Well if I sell it, I don't think it will be for the wrong reason.
But, like I told the wife, it's really a trade off.
Keep our scamp, and it's less room, but much better quality.
Sell it for something else and it's more room, much less quality and probably more money.
So there is the debate. It's all preferences I guess.

Its always... decisions, decisions, decisions..LOL When i was Eggless I found a nice new 05 19ft Road Warrior... more square.. plenty of room.. a 'real' bed, microwave. tank monitor, and the bathroom was nice too.. BUT it was alittle bigger than i wanted to tow.. and wider..
It was at the end of the camping season and the offer was around 18K.... I decided I just couldnt do w/o a SCAMP.. so my patients paid off after 5 months and one came available
There is just me and the two dogs so cramped room isnt the issue with me.... I LOVE MY SCAMP!!
