Trailer: 1976 Trillium 13 ft

Looks a little rough outside but the inside looks very clean without the dark paneling I have seen on other Surfsides.

Interesting thing is that though this is a Trillium 4500 mold that they use the Surfside cabinets/closet are not molded fibreglass.

This trailer is SOLD.... to Peter and Lynne. It is traversing its way from Vancouver Island to the Portland metro area as I sit here and type this.

Look for pictures and story (and explanation) in the General Chat section in the next day or two !

Just a little something to do once the 5er is finished . . .

Or is it that we feel like outcasts when we drive up with that "big" 5th wheel?

Hey, that's great that this trailer worked out for you. That encourages me to post another trailer I have been looking at but have passed on.

Hi Booker,

It looks like you are searching for a Trillium 4500 or like model. Since the Trillium 4500 and the Surfside are so very similar, I was curious why you passed up this Surfside trailer (if you don't mind saying why). It has a large bed and nice set of double bunks (each with their own reading light!)

Peter and I did a 4 hour detailed walkthru of the trailer today. Definitely rough on the outside. It will need some TLC to get it back into shape: door hinges about to fall off, fiberglass repairs needed, frame rusty, broken window, etc. But the inside condition is true to the pictures in the ad -- surprising good for a 29 year old trailer!

Hi Lynne,

Yes, still searching for a Trillium 4500 though the pressure is off to find one before summer since we have the 1300 - there was a great one in Calgary that just sold but 30 hours of driving was too much for us. Surfsides seem more plentiful here - there have been 3 surfsides for sale on Vancouver Island this year and only 1 Trillium 4500.

There were a few reasons I passed on the Surfside - the major one is because of the shorter windows. It looks to me like the Surfsides windows are 1/3 smaller then the Trilliums because of the upper cabinets. The feature I like most about the Trilliums are the big windows. I also didn't know if I could do a major install for the propane furnace or how much it would cost to have it done.

Saying that, I have not been in a Surfside so maybe you could tell me how you find the lighting and headroom is around the dining table.

Congrats!
Booker
