1981 Bigfoot 17 foot travel trailer fiberglass sleeps 5 comfortably has bunk foldable bunk above couch in rear. 3 way dometic fridge with small freezer 4 burner stove with oven self igniting furnace controlled by thermostat on wall large fresh water holding tank.

Loads of storage inside bathroom has flush toilet sink and shower.

Weighs only 1,800 lbs fully loaded dry weight is 1,300 lbs can be pulled by a 4 cylinder.

Wheel bearing and electric brakes just serviced 2 new propane tanks just put on both full and good for 20 years. No leaks!

Needs water heater replaced.

Nice looking unit. Most Bigfoots weigh considerably more than 1800 lbs. though. More like 3000lbs. Have you actually weighed it on a truck scale?

It is printed on the specs sheet inside the trailer the gvw weight is 1,875 lbs

Angelo, I don't mean to be disrespectful in any way. I love Bigfoots! My husband and I have one and adore it. The problem with the manufacturer's sticker is that it's pretty much an estimate and a low one at that. We have the very same sticker on our trailer with the very same weight, but when we're loaded for travel our trailer weighs between 2,800 and 3,000 lbs. and we travel light! If you take a look at this thread: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...-43010-24.html you will find a link to a spread sheet with the actual weights of trailers as weighed by their owners. The lowest Bigfoot weight in the spreadsheet is 2,194 lbs. but all of the others are more in line with what ours weighs.

I only bring this up so that anyone considering buying your trailer will have a better idea of what he or she will need to tow it. Too many newbies to the fiberglass trailer community have discovered only after buying their trailer that they then need to upgrade their tow vehicle in order to pull it safely.

I bought a 1981 Bigfoot 17 a few months ago however only used it once as I'm still trying to figure out what towing capacity needed for a vehicle...
Also I'm hoping your trailer may be similar... We couldn't find a handle for emptying grey water tank and it appears it should have one as the monitor shows one, any ideas? Also when driving water has been coming up through the drain in the shower so I'm assuming there is one and that is the cause of the water...Hoping you or someone can help. Thanks, Joanne
