Robert I think you want to take it over a scale, that 700# is off by at least 300 to 500# empty and then add in all the gear you are taking along.

The "batwing" awning is way cool! What is it and how big is it when opened? Did you purchase it yourself? Do all the ribs fit inside the case? Any idea how heavy it is with its case?

Hey Jon, Batwing came on it. I will photograph the name plate on the mounted carrier and shoot it to ya when 'Matilda' sells.

Hey Rick, she is one of what ? less than a dozen known "trail-mites" NOT a Scamp with 300 extra pounds of rivets et al. Could be wrong but went off original registration. I do know my wife and I simply pick up the chains and walk her to our bumper instead of backing up to her.

My 13' Boler is the same size as your Trail-Mite, probably worked off the same moulds with some mods on the Trail-Mite. 40+ rivets will be no where near 300#. I would scale it to be sure as the registrations were very often wrong to start with.

"Registration Weight" is usually the bare/dry weight provided by the mfg and almost never reflects the actual weight. FWIW SCAMP now shows 1200-1500 lbs for the 13'.

Jon, the "batwing" is a ShadyBoy.com - Home unit. Apparently they were standard on the old VW Vanagons. There is 1x u-tube video on how to set it up, a hoot. I will post in other forum and expect that every egg will have them this summer, wish I was a distributor
