SOLD: Vintage 1964 16' Roya-lite Fiberglass Travel Trailer-$3,500-MI
For sale, I have a 1964 Roya-lite fiberglass travel trailer made by Stewart Coach Ind. Bristol, IN. I have been told that this maybe the only one still on the road. I purchased this last year with plans to restore; however, due to financial hardship I must sell. I have recently beefed up and replaced the tires and axles. I also have updated the electrical. The only thing that needs to be done to make the trailer fully functional is to replace the LP regulator, LP tanks, and run new LP lines to the appliances. Appliances include stove, frig, furnace and water heater. Inside clearance is 80". Two beds, couch, table and bathroom(toilet only) and plenty of storage space. Total weight is under 1000 lbs, so it could easily be pulled by a small truck.
I am located in Battle Creek, MI

Just to add, this is made of Royalex not fiberglass. It looks as though the previous owner had it listed on here before.

Psst! I just put a copy of the 1965 Royalex ad by Uniroyal in the Miscellaneous section of the Document Center. I picked it up on eBay a couple months ago. I thought it was pretty interesting description of the process that "fuses nine layers of thermoplastic into a 'sandwich' containing expanded core"
Fiberglass RV - Document Center - Royal Traveler Ad
Your trailer looks remarkably like the model featured in the ad, but maybe a bit smaller. The ad features a nuclear family enjoying an evening in the single axle "Royal Traveler" with Dad sipping coffee at the front dinette while Mom is knitting or darning something. Sis and her brother are asleep in the Gaucho bed at the rear of the trailer.
Do they still make trailer tires with those big whitewalls? Did they ever?
Regards,
Matt

If you need white walls or redline tires check out Coker Tire. They make tires to fit a 10" rim diameter.

While the OP posted it for sale, it seems this thread has drifted a bit. In view of that I'll add to the off topic with this -
Scooterworks Tire, Shinko Whitewall 3.50 x 10
You'd have to check the load rating, but that's a lot less expensive than Coker.

I really like the look, but I am afraid the load rating on a scooter tire is probably just a few hundred lbs. The 10" diameter rim could be a showstopper, too, but it would guarantee me good parking at the low rider rallies!
Regards,
Matt

Update: I'll be heading out of state in a week or two. If anyone is interested, I'll take $3,000 for it within the next few weeks.

Chances that he'll see your post are slim. But his email address is in the initial post of the thread, so why not email and ask him? It can't hurt.

That may have been the last time he posted, but as far as logging in to FiberglassRV: Last Activity: 04-09-2012 01:00 PM That's a little better, but not by much and nearly nine months ago.

I've sent him a querie to see if he happens to still have the camper. I don't think that's very likely, but if he does, what a bidding frenzy that might start!
