Jim, sorry about that. I thought I only made a reference to NADA not being anywhere near reliable regarding Bigfoot prices.

Tiger.....I suggest that perhaps you look through previous sales of Bigfoot trailers in both the U.S. and Canada, to get a more accurate sense of what used Bigfoots go for. NADA is nowhere close to realistic market prices. Just a thought.

I was more referring to the suggested price post, then removed that and subsequent posts that quoted it.

Banks use NADA to set limits on how much they will loan on a used RV.

A good reference that would serve you well sir, is to ask your bank how much they would Loan for your trailer.

Your welcome for the help, direction, and support.

The difference is I fully realize before the purchase that the bank is not going to loan what used Bigfoots generally sell for. Bigfoots just get lumped in with all trailers in an RV market and those other trailers depreciate quickly because they are usually cheaply built. Bigfoots don't fall in price however.

Just consider that new 25B25FB are in the 60-70k range fully loaded. A used price on an exceptionally kept Bigfoot at 30%-40% of retail is not unrealistic. Ever why they sell quickly at prices that far exceed NADA? Demand and quality. You generally get most of your investment back as well if you take care of them when you sell. Can't do that with a stick built trailer.

Just my opinion, but using a figure of what banks will loan on to determine your used Bigfoot purchase is unrealistic. For what it's worth.

Insurance companies will also generally refer to NADA when settling claims, resulting in settlement offers well below actual market value. I am aware of several owners who presented classified listings of comparable units and got a much better settlement.

I don't know if a bank could be similarly persuaded, but it's possible. Worth a try if the Bigfoot is what you really want.

This site has a section of classified archives. I'm sure you'll find some previous B25FB sales. By looking at dates, you can sometimes tell how long the trailer was on the market.

Another excellent site specializing in molded fiberglass is www.fiberglass-rv-4sale.com. It reposts listings from Craigslist, Kijii, and eBay as well as direct listings.

Best wishes in your search!

Tiger......your NADA figure is without adding in the options, which a bank will certainly do. See below. First you used the general value without adding options in.....which matches your figures (10k to almost 13k). If you were to use the option button and add in options, they increase the NADA value substantially, yet still falls below, as in this particular case, what a loaded 2008 30th Anniversary 25B25FB or RQ might actually sell for. Actually NADA books it for just under 19k at $18,735.

Add your 5k to that and you're close to what you may buy it for. Then consider if the particular trailer is exceptional, just down the road, kept out of the weather, and has light use to say one 3-5k less than one say in Michigan, Arizona, or Colorado which requires a trip to pick up, let alone be satisfied with when you get they to view it. Road trips figure into the total cost as well. Hope that helps...…….
