Update

Well the X5 was not on the car lot this morning when I drove by.

But I did see a promising ad for an 04 Toyota Sienna LE late this afternoon on Kijiji. By chance it was for sale 2 blocks away. Went to see it and bought it on the spot. It is like new inside and out and drove fine on the highway with no noises, smells, or vibrations. It has aged well and is 7 years newer than our 97 Quest. Although the tow rating is 3,500lbs we will continue to tow with our car, our key vehicle.

IF, I were choosing between the Beamer, Element and Sienna, it would be
1. Sienna The ride is soooo much better than the element and it's much much quieter.
2. Element Very good for cleanup and errands. Great 4wd system, well not great, but it gets the job done. With the seats up you have severe blind spots!
3. BMW always room for one in the future when your looking for toys.
you did good!

Hope so too Adrian. One never really knows about the quality of a used car until you have a few years of ownership under your belt. I'm going to have it rust checked this week. A good investment for a pinch over $100. We paid $6,000. for this one. Sienna's and Honda Mini Vans bring a good buck up here especially for the good ones.
Note our 93 Nissan Van went 465,000 klm's on the original drive train. Not bad considering it towed a large pop up and then the Airstream for many hours. The newer Nissan Quests are not as good as the 1st gen versions.

In the last couple weeks we put 1,000 klm's on the Van. So far no issues.

We wanted to get a feel for the gas usage. Filled up just over a week ago and filled up again today. 650klm's and it took 75L. That works out to over 24MPG (Imperial gals). That was with 50% highway and the rest city driving. Not bad for a large 4,500lb vehicle. We are happy with it.
