To my surprise, we found a rest stop that made me uncomfortable. It was shortly after leaving Vancouver, headed east. I can't tell you where it was, other than on south side of the highway, (not exactly sure which highway. I was tired). It was marked on the highway and we pulled off. It seemed like a parking lot of some long gone business. Lots of diagonal semi truck parking. It was crowded with semis, tents, trailers... There were port-a-potties, but not enough. As we made the circle around the outside of the lot, there was a lady that was falling out of her top.

We pushed on to Bridal Vale Falls:

Where, there was no one. Your not supposed to stay the night. At about 2am, I could hear people talking from half way up the hill, but there was a bathroom. I slept like a baby. That was, till people started to arrive. Then it was back on the road.

Sorry to say this, but if you're a woman in this country, you're far more likely to be assaulted, harassed, intimidated, underpaid, let's not forget raped, kidnapped and murdered.
I have personally been assaulted twice, a good friend of mine was raped, and women cannot walk down some city streets without someone making a comment...even something as innocuous -but what is really a demand-as "smile". All this because the person is female.

I don't have to watch the television, I don't, really...it's happening all around us.

I have immediate family which is about half women from four generations. Not one of them has had any experience which even remotely approximates yours. This goes for friends and associates as well. It is my sincere hope that you will experience only peace and safety in your life where ever you go from now on.
I am not allowed to speak further on this subject for fear of being struck by flying binkies and rattles.(metaphorically speaking of course).

If you listen to all the political ads out there right now for the upcoming elections.......you should not step outside your home due to high crime and no police......you should not go to the store because there are no products and you can't afford them anyways......you can't afford gas.......the government wants to control our bodies.......children are not learning anything in our schools and they are not safe......social security is going away.......we can't afford our medications.......the world really sucks........and now you folks tell me that camping is unsafe.......this crap is really starting to tick me off. So glad the government is looking out for us.....someone has to.

Do you think those experiences are something that your grandmothers, mother, daughters, aunts, cousins, nieces, would talk to you about?
Just because you don’t know about their awful experiences, doesn't mean they didn’t happen.

Sadly, it looks like another discussion has run its course.
