Fiddlehead
Here is more evidence of the arrival of spring: a fiddlehead for a maidenhair fern in our garden.

Nice detail shot of Spring in your area of the world Brian. Down here in Texas, Spring sometimes is a double edged sword. We get the welcomed rain and nice camping temperatures, but also the uncertain skies and sometimes the bad stuff that come with it.
Here is my shot of this:

Nice shots guys.
I'll try to attach a couple of images from Easter - snow and wind! The bridge is a fascinating bit of local history - a straight railroad across the river with a road underneath. The road has severe bends each end so vehicles could make it down the bank and onto the bridge. The other shor is in a local park.
I'm still hoping for spring!

Hazel your shoots are great but they are also a good reminder as to why I like living on the wet coast! ;-)
Brain M. Luv your sky shoot!!
Brain V. - great to see your putting the micro lens to use! Makes me realize I need to get out there with my camera..

Your sky photo inspired me to post one of mine, taken from my Oklahoma back yard.

Until a few years ago big semis used to cross that bridge - but not with me at the wheel! I wouldn't take a big camper across it either - but I'm not noted for being a risk taking driver.

I have a Panasonic FZ100 super zoom and it's good but if I had to do it again I would probably spend the extra couple of hundred for a digital SLR. The size of the glass on cameras that don't allow changing lens makes aperture generally useless, shutter opening is too small to allow "soft" focus for background.
I bought the Panasonic for specific features like it's burst speed to take pictures of dog agility.
Do like second camera small enough to fit in a jacket or shirt pocket, compact but not the ultra small. Much easier to take along. Still use my Canon Powershot A75 which took this picture from a dockside bar with family, would not have been lugging a "good" camera with me there.

Gorgeous, Brian. We've had clouds all night, so it's nice to at least see it through your lens.

Great shot Brian! It was a great sight last night - I understand it is only going to be less the 1 percent less than last night so another op for shoots

Lovely moon shot Brian. We had cloud last night - and it is pelting rain right now. Not looking positive for moon shots here.

Butterflies for Josie
I shot these this past weekend in the Jefferson National Forest, SW Virginia. Love to shot when in the woods, so much joy!
Trying to give my grandchild a collection of natural things.
