Latest camera is a Nikon Coolpix P-90. Hardly a pocket camera but priced right for my/our needs.

Every time I go to the southwest I discover new places to see (unfortunately, often just after I leave the area). At least that gives me a great excuse to go back!

Some shots from our boondocking adventure of a few days ago. We camped beside a prairie marsh in wonderful weather.

Hazel those are awesome! Gosh I would have loved to have stayed there without power for weeks or at least until I ran out of sd cards for the camera!

Fall Pictures

We took a one week trip to Oregon in October, and the colours were wonderful!

Some delightful shots posted recently. Thanks to you. It is fun to see where people travel to and what they point their cameras at.

Here's a fall leaf I took a few weeks ago. It is hard to believe it was such a short time ago - we have snow now, which would be more bearable if the skies weren't consistently grey!

Here is an image of the Santiam I took at the Fall NOG. Beautiful Campsites. I used an adjustable NDS filter to slow the waves down in the middle of the day. The light was behind and lite up the far bank. The sun was behind a tree in the foreground, so it has nice doppled light. Ended up looking kind of cool.

New Tow

We towed with our 2003 Subaru Forester from February 2010 until June 2012, and it did a reasonable job, however steep grades were a challenge, and we began to think of getting a new car. We considered a RAV4 V6, but did not like the side-swinging tailgate, so bought a Toyota Highlander V6. We towed with it over the Hope Princeton in September to the Okanagan and returned over the Okanagan Connector and Coquihala, and it managed those roads easily. We used it also for our October trip to the high desert in Oregon without any problems. Our trailer's loaded weight is about 2000 pounds, and the Highlander's towing capacity is 5000 pounds.

I'm a big fan of camping in what most call the off-season. In fact, I like to hit the road just about any time but Summer.

Nice David.
Real black and white or digital black and white?
I'm with you, more photo opportunities in the shoulder seasons than during summer.

Here's one from September. You can see more on my photo blog:

David, nice shot. I agree, off season is great and you can get shots most people miss. Stay warm and happy camping!
